More betcover!! bangers here, it's such an easy listen and whilst it may not progress much from beginning to end, it's still a solid release!
Nearer My God sees Foxing develop their sound further into a unique, captivating one - however this album feels bloated due to the weak back-end run of tracks. Trim off a few tracks and this is an easy improvement!
Last week I went and saw Foxing live in concert - and they were quite comfortably one of the best live acts I've had the pleasure of seeing perform. In all honesty, I went based purely on my enjoyment of their most recent release, and having heard some more of their music at the show, I figured it was worth taking a dive through their catalogue.
Now, I'd be lying if I said that I enjoyed The Albatross as much as I did their most recent album. That's not to say this is bad at ... read more
High energy, but I'm not quite sure I'm a fan of their sound
It feels SO hollow, the melodies are really underwhelming and the lyricism is poor. Outside of a few decent moments, this is not an enjoyable listen.
Really not sure what people are seeing in this to be honest - I find it vain, lyrically hollow, and incredibly formulaic. Is it a decently produced generic pop album? Yeah I guess so, but at the same time it's far from an enjoyable listen
A poetic, relentless assault by Simz. Intertwined with other topics, this album is a little back heavy but sees Simz continue to expand her brilliant discography.
Not my favourite album, but Miley has come on leaps and bounds from her previously underwhelming album, and this release features several really interesting and quite enjoyable moments!
The raw emotion in these is unparalleled. Fourth of July (Version 4) is a masterpiece in every possible facet.
An album that tries a bit of everything, but doesn't really land as anything - these experimental tracks are good but fail to work together as a coherent album, leaving a pretty tame listening experience from beginning to end. There is something intriguing laying deep down here, but this album doesn't showcase the band to their best imo.
A really strong debut that has appeared out of nowhere. It doesn't hit me quite as strongly as I hoped, but I think that comes from the slightly repetitive nature of the album. Huge potential but it's just half a step short at the moment for me.
Atmospheric, but quite disjointed. The Polachek feature is nice, but otherwise the album is a bit lacking.
