Not really for me - not bad by any means but it didn't blow me away at all
I really enjoyed this! There's a really sweet variety to the music, and such a mellow feeling to it that it becomes almost absorbing! A very nice listen!
Ever since speaking to Harry at one of Maruja's gigs last year, I've been eagerly awaiting this album. You could tell he was excited for it to release, and as such I had quite high expectations coming into this. Maruja have been a staple of my music taste for the past few years, so any new releases grab my attention!
What an impressive improvised album! The 4 members manage to create an otherworldly, impending soundscape that is dark yet hypnotic, and utterly captivating. So much of ... read more
Not quite as engrossing as the previous album, but still an enjoyable release by Puma Blue
Production is a bit iffy, and the whole album is a bit same-y for the most part, but that doesn't take too much away from this being a pretty solid album
It's entirely ok.
Jammed full of entirely average tracks, Blindness fails to reach the standards expected of The Murder Capital in my eyes. The vocals are decent if entirely unspectacular, the whole album feels a bit monotonous, and the standout tracks whilst solid are nothing all that memorable. A shame as whilst I appreciate their ambition to branch out into new sounds, it just hasn't quite worked for them here.
An absolutely otherworldly listen, so many high moments and an incredibly consistent listen! A big fan of the sounds here!
Despite an overly flat feeling with underwhelming production, I found this to be a really compelling and intriguing listen!
It definitely feels more like a B-side to Romance, but that doesn't mean it isn't still a pretty great track - just noticeably less refined!
It's really intriguing, but the vast range of genres explored here leaves it feeling a bit wild and chaotic! It's a fun listen, but as a full project it feels a bit all over the place.
I actually found this genuinely irritating to listen to, something about it is just incredibly annoying. Not sure if it's the poor lyrics, the half-arsed vocals, or something else, but it really didn't click for me
It's just a bit meh - the vocals don't work well on a few of the tracks and it generally falls a bit flat. A couple of the tracks have that classic Manics feel to them and definitely stand out as the positives, but otherwise it's a miss
Another really enjoyable listen - varying sounds and a captivating feel make this well worth your time! :)
It's absolutely luscious - everything you would want from this release and more
Really promising, but this particular release still feels unpolished and under baked. Can see big things in the future though
They were using Rizz before it blew up
Rizzle Kicks were a staple of my childhood - my early teens were dominated by the sounds of Stereo Typical and then some of the hits from their later albums before they dipped. The energy they created with their music was iconic in the UK - it perfectly encapsulated the feeling of the early 2010s and was so joyously fun that it was borderline addictive. As such, it's clear to see why a nostalgia for this era had people thrilled for their return this ... read more
Really enjoyed the funky groove to this one, a nice bit of energy!
