I'm sure the Mac fans are loving this release, and I'm honestly glad for them! But as someone who never really got into Mac's music given it didn't quite appeal to me, I have to admit that this album unfortunately dragged on for SO long! The production is quite underwhelming, making it all feel quite samey and boring the longer you go on. There are clearly some good moments here and I'm genuinely happy to see a posthumous album done properly, but for me personally it ... read more
Whilst mostly filler and generic, SOFY's release here does have some really solid moments. WET PAINT is far and away the standout track for me, with the other tracks feeling somewhat like failed attempts at reaching that sound she was aiming for with this one. Nonetheless, for a short release it's a decent enough listen! :)
Exactly what you want from a Viagra Boys album! I was late to the party with these guys, but working back through their catalogue is just as fun as their more recent work!
2025 picks up right where 2024 left off as Asian Glow drops an absolute masterclass of an album! The immense amount of power that can be found here is incredible, creating an unsettling yet nurturing and dreamy landscape of shoegaze noise. A couple of tracks don't quite land as well as others, but the overall experience is mesmerising with some seriously high highs. What a way to start the year!
Really nice work! Beautiful and enchanting, without overdoing it
A nice continuation from the first EP, although a lack of development and evolution does start to become noticeable here. A beautiful listen though
REALLY solid - some absolutely stellar tracks here that were really enjoyable! I did find it a tad bloated in the middle section, but overall this is a really enjoyable project! Nice work!
Whilst nothing all too unique, it's undeniably a solid indie rock album with some really enjoyable tracks mixed in with a few bang average songs. A good listen nonetheless!
I like the sound! Not sure I'd want an entire album in this style, but as a standalone single I thought it was pretty solid - excited for the next Simbi album!
I actually thought they sounded decent when I first heard them - but this album does not match my expectations at all sadly
It can't quite decide what it wants to be! There are some decent moments here, but it's all so mismashed and unorganized that any semblance of consistency is lost entirely.
I'm amazed he's managed to stay in the chair, looks like he's having a blast though. Consequently, this album is just as fun as the album cover implies!
Telecaster Stripes is an absolute banger - the other tracks are decent but this EP is made by the closing track
