Haven't heard anything from this group before this album, but reading through the comments and reviews it's interesting to learn that this is a 'new' version of the group tackling a new sound! I really enjoyed what this trio produced in this release though, it's sweet, charming, and cute all whilst not overly selling itself on that mantra. Overall it ends up being a pleasant listen that could definitely keep growing on me!
Harsh, loud, and aggressive - I enjoyed it despite the surprisingly short runtime
A really haunting album - it's incredibly honest, raw, and emotional. The more I learn about Nick and his circumstances, the more powerful this album becomes - it's beautiful.
Such an incredibly harsh and chaotic album, but such a fun listen due to the fact that it's absolutely crammed full of energy. It's so loud and fun that you can definitely overlook the fact that it's a tad same-y as you reach the latter half of the album.
I have no idea what the fuck I just listened to, but I love the crazy energy and chaotic nature of the album! The vocals are a bit offputting for me personally, but otherwise it's pretty fun!
Such an honest and open-hearted album, MJ Lenderman has created a beautiful yet easily accessible country record that exceeds any expectations!
Never heard of this group before, but this is a pretty decent album with some real unique quirks to it. There's hints of sounds similar to The Voidz scattered throughout which were a surprise, but overall a decent listen!
When the singles were dropping, I mentioned that I wasn't quite sure on the slight change of direction that Wunderhorse were taking with Midas compared to Cub, and having heard the whole album now I mostly stand by that opinion.
Sure, there are some strong moments here and you can certainly see how the sound has been developed and adapted, but for me it's a change that doesn't quite land. Instead, it brings them more in line with other similar groups and sounds, resulting in a ... read more
It's a tad simple, but the vibes that Rizzle Kicks bring have been missing from UK life for so so long! This is a catchy track that is both a welcome comeback and a solid foundation for them to build their return on!
You'd hope that a Grammy award winning producer would release something more than a mish-mash of soulless, hollow tracks that are at best half-baked and underproduced, but unfortunately Mura Masa decided that was the direction to go with Curve 1.
It's disjointed, messy, and almost lazy in how generic it sounds, with some tracks being nothing more than plain annoying (see Giddyup). When a highlight of the album is Yeule referencing London's metro system, that may well be a sign ... read more

Whilst certainly stronger in the singles than it is in the album tracks, 'Romance' is still an incredibly fine release from the Irish group. Despite lacking the rawness and harsh sounds of previous works, the softer approach creates a haunting atmosphere throughout the core of the album that encapsulates and at times overwhelms you with vulnerability and honesty.
My only real gripe with the album is the fact that the run of tracks from 'In the Modern World' ... read more
As far as novelty/gimmick albums go, this one is right up there in terms of sound and quality. The combination of C418 and Midwest emo leads to what is actually quite an unexpectedly beautiful sound, and one that is utterly captivating!
