파란노을 [Parannoul] - 고통없이 [Painless]
98

Breathtakingly good, the next album cannot come soon enough

Friendly Fires - Friendly Fires
84

Thought I'd check this out after seeing them as a support act live, and this album definitely doesn't disappoint! There are some brilliant tracks here and the energy is brilliant, definitely worth checking out, and if you get the chance to see them live then I would strongly suggest seeing them!

Bartees Strange - Going Going
87

Never really a fan of single releases where it's just multiple versions of the same track, but I still consider Going Going to be one of the most underrated tracks of the past few years as it is utterly gorgeous. The reprise here doesn't do too much for me though, and I don't see the need to include the original and the 2024 version either. Also, what is the difference between this 2024 release and the one that released in 2022, if any???

As a track itself this is a 95+ but this ... read more

Bartees Strange - Lie 95
77

Solid, looking forward to what's to come!

Remi Wolf - Big Ideas
83

Incredibly funky yet also really well varied, 'Big Ideas' is an album that keeps itself fresh throughout by mixing in a wide variety of styles and elements to keep you on your toes. A really enjoyable listen!

Clairo - Charm
85

Beautifully smoothing, a gorgeously warm listen that will wrap you like a tight hug and not want to let you go. Up there with Clairo's best work, albeit with fewer standout moments but arguably more consistency throughout. A really good album! :)

Wunderhorse - Silver
69

Really struggling with the singles for the new album, I fully understand that they want to switch up their direction and be more true to themselves but the results so far don't show me much more than a run of the mill (albeit it slightly quirky) indie rock release. The vocals just aren't working for me and it all feels a bit flat. Maybe within the context of a full album they'll click, but as standalone tracks they have me concerned for an upcoming slump.

Peach Fur - Earth Radio
59

Sweet at times, but utterly hollow at others. It's ok!

Peach Fur - Awake
70

Another decent, if relatively unspectacular EP by Peach Fur. Some solid moments but nothing that really grabs you as a standout moment.

Peach Fur - Pleasures & Necessities
73

Pretty solid - Glimmer is far and away the standout tracks here though with the other 4 on this EP being relatively standard

Pink Floyd - Animals
84

A really intriguing listen, but I definitely feel like it loses its focus at times - getting quite prolonged when it doesn't feel entirely necessary. Not my favourite Pink Floyd record but definitely one of the more interesting, and may demand a second listen

The Voidz - Overture
NR

How do you even rate something like this? It sounds intriguing but also gives absolutely nothing - what a weird choice of release

beabadoobee - Take A Bite
71

Eh it's ok, but the vocals sound synthetic as hell and the little synth riff that sounds like a weird accordion doesn't do it for me. It gets a 71 mostly on the feel good vibes and cuteness of it all

beabadoobee - Coming Home
62

Kam sums it up pretty well - this ultimately feels rushed, unfinished, and messy

beabadoobee - Ever Seen
81

A solid single, I like her vocals here but wanted a bit more from the instrumentals

FEET - Make It Up
56

Annoyingly bland, I kept waiting for something to happen and it never arrived. Disappointing.

The Decemberists - As It Ever Was, So It Will Be Again
74

The last track came out of nowhere and was utterly mesmerising. Before that, it's a pretty decent album with some sweet ideas and nice vocals, but nothing all too impressive in the grand scheme of things.

Syzy - The weight of the world
84

An incredibly well crafted and put together album, very consistent throughout with few weak points! It's not entirely my thing, but it's still an album I had a really good time listening to and experiencing.

Uboa - Impossible Light
86

God this is brutal, an incredible piece of work
