Boldy James - Across The Tracks
84

Love the production on this - lyricism is pretty good throughout too. A solid release!

Wilco - Hot Sun Cool Shroud
70

The variety is nice to hear, but for the most part it just felt utterly hollow

Hiatus Kaiyote - Love Heart Cheat Code
69

This album was losing me through the first half, it felt like nothing special and I thought it'd be something I'd forget as soon as I finished the album - however the final f w tracks where the sound switches up really caught my attention. A whole album of that sound would have gone down so much better for me!

Pond - Stung!
68

Pond still struggle to win me over

HIMALAYAS - Thank God I'm Not You
73

I mean it's ok, not sure how it got so popular though

kinoue64 - neu neu neu
76

A lack of electronic female vocals for kinoue64 here, but a decent enough experiment regardless. The closing track is one of their better tracks in a long time!

James Blake - Bad Cameo
80

Yachty continues to amaze with his transition to alt r&b. This is a wonderfully unique and surprisingly emotional release with great production and vocals thrown in by James Blake. Yachty does not feel out of place at all here, and it results in a really engaging listen!

Lupe Fiasco - Samurai
81

Love the beats and production, and the overall sound is both chilled and fully accessible to those unfamiliar with Lupe such as myself. There are some areas where I feel this could be improved, but overall a really enjoyable listen

ANOHNI and the Johnsons - Breaking
83

So incredibly passionate and emotional, a beautiful release

Malaki - pasta
84

Malaki continues to be one of the most underrated artists around - dropping another seriously solid, yet completely chill, single in 'pasta'

Bakar - Everytime
74

Simple, but annoyingly catchy!

juno - san francisco blues
72

Not sold on this, feels a bit generic and whiney for my liking, although the production and structure seems solid enough

funeral - Don't Hold Me Tonight
83

Definitely grew on me as the song went on - really enjoyed it in the end, it's a solid electronic club style track with some catchy choruses

Hockey Dad - Rebuild Repeat
80

Brilliant production, and some really nice honest vocals throughout! Rebuild Repeat actually ended up defying my expectations as I thought it would be somewhat underwhelming based on the user score, but it was actually a well rounded indie album!

Bloc Party - Flirting Again
63

Somewhere between Ratchet, The Love Within, and modern electro-pop. Didn't quite win me over on first listen, but I can see a world where it grows on me with more listens

The Story So Far - I Want To Disappear
63

Album unfortunately drops off pretty hard, and I wasn't all too enamored with it to begin with

Ulcerate - Cutting the Throat of God
76

For someone not that into this type of music, I enjoyed this! A bit draggy in the middle and lost me a bit there, but generally not bad at all!

Angélica Garcia - Gemelo
78

Really enjoyable listen, loved some of the tracks here! A couple sound a bit generic but on the whole a good album!

Walt Disco - The Warping
57

Chode cover

I want to like Walt Disco - I really do. But the vocals just make it pretty much impossible, it's such a detriment to what could be a fairly unique and interesting listen where instead your entire focus is just on a messy, overly dramatic vocal performance. A shame, as it all but ruins the album

Been Stellar - Scream From New York, NY
84

The last run of tracks on this album are absolutely spectacular, a really solid album with hints of influence from a variety of bands - it all results in a really good listen!
