Pretty stunning, some of the tracks here really develop into great pieces!
Misch yet again follows his formula of releasing good, but not great, music. As with pretty much all his music, this is a smooth, easy listen that doesn't actually do much more than that
In the same week that #19 drops, The Streets ruin it with this :(
Someone bar Mike from the recording studio, everything he's creating now is just a painful listen. There is none of what made the first few albums so amazing to be found here, just some incoherent ramblings. Don't bother with this, or probably with the inevitable incoming album.
Wow, I actually knew nothing about this coming into it but seeing the reviews I had to check it out - let's just say I fully understand what you all mean now, this is incredible
Pretty good, love yeule's vocals here - they completely match the vibe of the song
I absolutely fell in love with the vocals from the get go, and for a genre I'm normally not THAT into, I found myself really quite enjoying the album through the first few songs. Unfortunately, as others have mentioned, it does get a bit long and boring after a while which does detract from the overall experience, but generally it was a pleasant listen :)
Loved the dark jazz sound that runs throughout this album, although it did feel a little long-winded by the very end
Youthful sounding Manics, but this is a really strong album that approaches brutal and dark topics in a masterful way. Definitely worth checking out :)
Perhaps one the best tracks they've ever released - it's a complete switch from Starburster with this being far more melodic and soft in comparison, but it works incredibly well. Really curious to see how the rest of the album develops given the gulf in similarities between both singles so far though, it could be something special!
I prefer the OG version, but this is a pretty decent cover. Big fan of how they replicated the sound of her voice at times, and generally it all worked pretty well as a variation of Simz' original release.
There's so much that I enjoyed in this album, however it's all let down by the lacklustre vocals. It's a great concept for an album though and I love the ideas behind it, unfortunately I just don't think Fax Gang bring enough to the table
An album that despite sounding decent at face value, actually does very little and apart from the J-Cole feature sounds pretty stale and repetitive. Sure if you chuck it on in the background it sounds enjoyable enough, but if you pay any attention to this album you'll find that it all sounds pretty much the same - generic, simple afrobeat with lazy vocals. I was hoping for a lot more.
Some good songs here, but I can't help but think that it would have seriously benefitted from fewer tracks and more time spent refining the tracks that remained, as a fair few songs here feel messy and unnecessary
Sweet, a bit of an Elbow feel at times, but generally just a bit bland for the most part
Really solid, love the dark ambience that surrounds the whole album - it absolutely envelopes you as the album progresses. A great listen
