slenderbodies go for quite a Kawala-esque sound with their most recent single, and in all fairness it works pretty well
Want to like it, but the vocals are way below what I'd come to expect from Wunderhorse and they actually become quite the obstacle to enjoying the track
Starts off ok but the last tracks sound really quite weak and poorly made. At only 35 mins it's not too bad, but nothing worth returning to
Decent, but not that much stands out to me as memorable. A good listen but nothing all too special
Really disjointed, and the vocals really underwhelmed for me. Not the most enjoyable listen
Strong parannoul vibes here, the only thing lacking is the vocals for me - they just don't land as often as they should and they feel quite empty at times. A load of the tracks are really solid though and I can definitely see myself coming back not only to this album, but to future twikipedia releases
LOUD LOUD LOUD
I'm generally not that familiar with Knocked Loose, not am I really that into metal as a genre but I had checked out the singles leading up to this album out of curiosity as they had great scores. I was intrigued but the singles as standalone tracks didn't quite make me want to return to them, but seeing this album had been released I knew I had to give the full thing a chance!
As someone who knows quite little about this genre, I have to say that I loved some of the vocals ... read more
It sounds just like everything else Jordan has done recently. That's not necessarily a bad thing especially if you like his sound, but it's a shame that there isn't much development on display here
I swear he just makes musical crack, every single track he releases is addictive
Funky, fun, and energetic, but a bit soulless and generic. A decent enough listen but not one to return to.
Just really failed to do much for me - there are a few solid tracks especially at the start of the album, but as an overall album it just felt quite boring and didn't captivate me all that much at all. It sounds nice and pleasant, but lacks the substance to win me over.
Gets really quite samey after a few tracks, but I love the energy and intentions behind this album. The slight switch up in sound towards the end was absolutely needed to prevent this feeling stale.
A really open and honest album with some serious charm to it. Unfortunately the sound isn't quite for me, but I can totally see how so many people have fallen in love with this release!
A really interesting, fun listen here! I've never really listened to WILLOW before so I didn't know quite what to expect, but I really enjoyed the variety of sounds and influences throughout the album, and more importantly how balanced all of these influences were! It wasn't restricted to one genre or recreating one particular sound, but instead jumped from one to another pretty seamlessly! A shame that it was released in the middle of all the childish drama that has stolen the headlines this ... read more
The tracks are mostly catchy and fun, but something about them just feels grating and I'm not quite sure what exactly!
I really enjoyed this! As someone who's completely unfamiliar with this artist, I instantly found myself loving the vocals and the overall feel of the album! As people have mentioned, there's a real ethereal retro-dreaminess to it all and that makes it such a pleasant listen. There's a few elements I'm not quite as fond of, but overall a really nice release! :)
It's almost unfair how good he is - this is yet another stunner of a release by Kamasi Washington and one that rivals, if not beats, his previous best works. He cements himself as THE name in the current jazz scene with this album, seamlessly integrating several aspects into the genre and showcasing incredible ambition into one real journey of a listen. Amazing :)
