Black Country, New Road - Ants From Up There
97

One of the best releases of the decade so far. The arrangements are beautiful and the lyrics are clever and touching at the same time. I'm not sure how the band will do without Isaac as their vocalist going forwards- but no matter what, this album will go down as a classic and I will die on that hill.

Freddie Gibbs - $oul $old $eparately

Pretty good album. While a lot of the beats and features are fire, I find my favorite parts are honestly the interludes.

blink-182 - blink-182
84

Easily the best blink album and one of the best pop punk albums of the 2000s. Definitely the most emo album blink ever did as well- but I think the sadness in a lot of the songs reflects really well, while in their new albums it comes across as cringe. In my eyes, this is the last good blink album and for good reason. One of the first albums I ever got into as a teenager and while some of the songs may seem weird to many, a few listens will validate them.

Weezer - Weezer (Blue Album)
98

This is peak pop rock music, idc. while some people might be put off by the strange lyrics and messy sound, i find it to really add to the whole geek asthetic. There is nothing bad about this album to be honest. Any album with Only In Dreams is automatically gonna slap tho, lets be honest

twenty one pilots - Trench

I actually don't like this band really but this album is amazing, in fact one of my favorite albums ever. The flow is insanely good, Tyler's rapping is not cringe for the first time, the lyricism is deep and the concept feels like it exists. There's a ton of diversity in the sound, from effortless rap verses on Levitate to hard rock bass riffage on Jumpsuit, simple effective indie rock on The Hype, and a good number of amazing ballads i.e. Bandito, Leave The City, Neon Gravestones. I would ... read more

Weezer - Weezer (White Album)

This album is proof that weezy still got it. Every song slaps, the flow is incredible, although I wish there was a bit more diversity in the sound of it. However, it's undeniable that the limited variety here is good quality.

My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade
89

Pop punk may not be the most consistent genre, but when it slaps it slaps, and this album is proof of that. MCR really took on a challenge with a concept album, in 2006, with their background. But boy does it pay off, and it's aged incredibly. While there are the normal style pop punk cuts like Teenagers and Dead!, the deep cuts like Mama and Sleep are some of the most incredible songs in this genre ever. Famous Last Words might not be loved, but I always considered it one of the best songs ... read more

The Strokes - The New Abnormal
98

Proof that rock is very much alive and well. Every single song here is amazing, especially At The Door, which has proven to be one of my favorite songs ever. There are amazing singles, like Bad Decisions, Brooklyn Bridge To Chorus and The Adults Are Talking which all are catchy as hell with catchy riffs. There are crazy good deep cuts like Eternal Summer, Not The Same Anymore, and Why Are Sundays So Depressing. The closer on this thing is unreal, Ode to the Mets, sees the strokes taking on ... read more

Arctic Monkeys - AM

Honestly, not seeing the hype. While there are good songs here (i.e. R U Mine?) I feel the majority of it just sounds boring and unoriginal. Arctic Monkeys have way more going for them than what they display here, and I feel this might be a turn-off for people trying to get into them.

Queens of the Stone Age - ...Like Clockwork
100

I know a lot of people won't agree with my perfect score, but idc. In my opinion, this is one of the best albums of the decade, and probably also my favorite rock album of the decade. Every single song slaps, the concepts are clear, and the feature list is insane. This is one of the must-listen-to hard rock albums for people trying to get into the genre.
