First off, DMX wasn’t a very good person. I’m gonna get hate for this, and I’m just gonna embrace it. I’m not gonna dive deep into it, so I’m gonna leave the situation alone.
This debut album is peak DMX. This was when he was at his most intimidating, his grittiest, and quite possibly his best. This is him at his most energetic, and the production is pretty good.
However, I would have shortened that album up if I were him, because there’s a good amount of filler in an otherwise great album!

It's always tricky cause, yes, his flows and performances are quality and so uniquely his, but at the same time he was such a dysfunctional person. I've heard he was trying to appease for his behavior later in his life, but still.
