I’ve known Tyler, The Creator to be much better than this. With a new album coming soon, I’m doing a discography dive again.

Before we had everything from Flower Boy forward, we had this album, which is mostly just edgy filler. It’s not the worst thing you will ever hear at the slightest, but there is little to no progression in this album. A lot of the songs feel way too long, and the production isn’t this album’s biggest virtue.

However, you can’t ignore that there are good qualities in this album, especially in the two hits: Yonkers and She.

Yonkers is the song that blew Tyler up into the mainstream. Some people loved it, and some hated it. I like it because unlike most of the songs in this album, it’s actually well-produced and doesn’t bore you.

She is basically like Yonkers except it has a Frank Ocean feature that is done insanely well.

Boring, boring, sleeping…for the most part.
