Kanye West - 808s & Heartbreak

Ye, I Love You, But You’re Bringing Me Down #5

There’s no denying that this album is absolutely influential. It popularized the 808 drum machine, which has been used by numerous artists since this album was released.

This was made during a dark time in Kanye’s life. His mother passed away from complications caused by cosmetic surgery, and Kanye was dealing with criticism by the media. Feeling emotionally lost, he channeled his emotions into this album.

This album has a lot of highlights, and a lot of them are emotional as fuck, especially the first five and the last song. It’s got its inconsistencies, but overall, this album is very good.

Straight to the point since I don’t have a lot to say about the music itself.
