I will express my opinion on every single one of these songs that have been added to AOTY. The only ones I couldn’t find were the song “Je Ne Bois Pas Beaucoup” and “Fbg”
We start this station with a real banger. Art pop classic.
Panda Bear is a member of Animal Collective who has made music of his own. Not everything he makes is good, but this song is his best solo song in my opinion.
Frank Ocean has a total of 6 of his own songs in this radio station. Makes sense because this station is called “Blonded” and he is a co-host for the in-game station.
This song is my least favorite Frank Ocean song from the station because it’s not very memorable at all. In fact, I don’t even know what the melody to this thing sounds like.
Song: Kno Ya Wrong
I don’t know why, but this song is my favorite hip hop song to listen to when I’m alone and it’s night out. Totally fits the vibes I guess
Sure, this is a generic 90’s R&B song, but it’s still really good nonetheless.
On A Farm is great for what it is, but I can’t really get into it.
Songs: Ivy, Nights, Pretty Sweet
If you haven’t seen my most recent review for Blonde, it’s that I think it grew off me to where I think it’s just decent. However, these three songs are some of the best songs on the album.
Ivy is the only song out of the three that I didn’t add at first, but I gave it time to grow on me, and I think this is one of Frank Ocean’s best songs.
Nights is easily the best song out of the three in my opinion. The first half of the song sent me ascending, especially towards the beat switch, with the synths and Frank’s singing making the song a masterpiece. After the beat switch, it gets a lot more somber, and it repeats the chorus, letting you know that this song isn’t two songs.
Pretty Sweet is the most underrated song in Blonde in my opinion. Something about the breakbeat halfway through and the choir-like singing at the end make this song so good. Great way to close out the station.
This is one of the greatest soul tracks of all time. I recommend this 100%. Go on. Listen to it.
Song: When Did You Stop Loving Me, When Did I Stop Loving You
Not many songs about divorce are that great in my opinion, but this one is a definite exception. Top 5 song on the album
Song: Andreaen Sand Dunes
This song lasts a little longer than it should, especially for a techno song, and it’s very repetitive. There are way better songs on Neptune’s Lair.
I’m using this as an opinion for Dead Presidents II.
This is one of the greatest rap songs you’ll ever hear, with great lyrics and amazing production.
Song: Crack Rock
If y’all know me well, it’s that I like Channel Orange a lot more than Blonde. So naturally, I was disappointed that this was the only song in Channel Orange that’s in the radio.
But this song is a banger.
Song: EZ Come, EZ Go
This song isn’t very good. We do have a crown jewel next, though
Song: IZ-US
This is the crown jewel of the station. Not many songs can symbolize the end of the world and be as fantastic as this song. Also I’m never gonna stop making that big face.
Top 5 song of all time.
Song: Hiders
This is a completely different sound for Burial, which is completely okay. It’s actually my favorite song on the EP, which is totally an unpopular opinion lol
I love that this is the best trap song of all time. I don’t wanna try codeine tho
I could have sworn this song was in Blonde but I guess not :/
That said, this is one of his best songs
Lil Uzi is a tad bit underrated in this community, but this song doesn’t really show it.
Song: First 48
This is one of these songs where the hook is underwhelming but the verses are great. And RIP Takeoff
Song: YSL
There’s not a whole lotta Gunna here, because this song got massively carried by Playboi Carti
Song: Miss White Cocaine
The Denzel Curry and the $uicideboy$ you can hear…he was pretty influential to the underground scene
Song: Winnin
Turns out that Chief Keef doesn’t really lose in this song.
Song: Man Don’t Care
Grime as a genre can be good depending on the person. I love the genre of music, and this song is the best song in that genre in my opinion.
Song: Master
As some of y’all already know, I love lo-fi rock music. This song isn’t disappointing at all despite its very short runtime.
