Nirvana - You Know You're Right

Reading the book Heavier Than Heaven by Charles R. Cross, a Kurt Cobain biography, just makes every song I hear by them a lot sadder. On top of that this music video made up of 100’s of clips of Nirvana behind the scenes and at shows makes me 100 times more depressed.

This song showcases how unique Nirvana was, and how Kurt, while he found no worth in himself, was a great songwriter who had the world in front of him. What pains the most, though, is his voice. There is a lot of pain clear in his voice. Pain from his stomach, pain from touring, pain from life, pain from death.

He was a person who didn’t want to communicate his thoughts, but found a way to and this is what he brought to the world. Well, around 8 years after his death, but I think that context works in an emotional way that Kurt probably would have liked.

“ I always knew to come like this
Things have never been so swell
I have never failed to fail.”
