wow, man. i’m honestly shocked that more people can’t appreciate the instrumentation all over this thing. the guitar work and vocals are truly stunning and incredible.

Geese - 4D Country
100

With 4D Country, a 5 track EP, Geese make some of the best rock music of the decade up to this point. The opener is an extension of the title track to their 3D Country record that dropped a few months earlier, and it adds two minutes of experimental, disorienting, jam-like instrumentation, before merging back into the original ending of the song, and it makes for a very interesting and welcome addition to what was already a fantastic track. LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening
100

This Is Happening is honestly one of the most well produced albums I've ever heard. Every moment on this thing hits fantastically, and the way each song builds on itself with the amazing, constantly progressing song structures are nearly indescribable. While being about as weird as a pop album can be, pom pom pulls this off as best as it could've at the same time. Absolute insanity from front to back, containing immense versatility with each song sounding completely different from any other, while still forming a fantastic and immersive track flow. Some of these songs feel like a wild acid trip, such as the first two, while others are smooth pop bangers, like Lipstick or Put Your Number in My Phone, while still putting an odd spin on things ... read more

Cheekface - Too Much to Ask
89

While barely hitting the 30 minute mark, Cheekface manage to pack in great cut one after the other, creating what ends up being a fantastic and surprisingly satisfactory experience. The instrumentals are consistently high quality, catchy, and very fitting to the energy of the song-writing, and there are some amazing solos on tracks such as You Always Want to Bomb the Middle East, Friends, as well as Next to Me. I find the lyrics all over this thing to be quite witty, humorous, and relatable, as ... read more
