I never thought of Coldplay as a bad band and this pair of new singles... definitely ain't bad at all. "Orphans" is undoubtedly the lead single off this album as it's the most pop-oriented of the two. It has a catchy enough hook and the bass grooves are silky smooth, but, as a whole, it's nothing mind-blowing. The adventurous "Arabesque", however, gives me just a little more hope for "Everyday Life". It's a direction I sincerely hope will make its way into future projects and that saxophone solo is just glorious!
