Zomboy - Royal Blood
80

Probably the best usage of a yoi I've ever heard.

ONARA - conceptualize
85

EPs like this are why I hate the "riddim is live show thing rather than something you listen to at home" line of thinking.

Modal Nodes - Alone
90

I shouldn't have slept on this holy crap.

This is a shoe in for riddim project of the year for me and I don't know if anyone is going to touch this. Something I don't think Modal Nodes gets enough credit for is how seamlessly the Star wars theming integrates with everything. Genuinely a masterclass in theming, especially in a genre that doesn't concern itself much with aesthetics and theming beyond the cover art and what mask the dj wears.

JID - HEY TONY!
100

huh

I don't like the way Tony is looking at me...

Aweminus - ULTIMATE BASTARD
50

I love aweminus, but this isn't that great...

Zomboy - Time Machine
70

A fun little track from two brostep legends.

SampliFire - Get To You
75

Gotta say, this track impressed me considering the quality of Samplifire's recent output.

IVORY - AXIS 01
30

Ivory is a very talented producer.

This is not the EP to listen to if you want an example of those talents.

Chime - That's Good
90

ON AN IPAD?????

Montell2099 - Duality
80

I'm not sure why this album hasn't gotten more attention, it's a pretty fun romp for how short it is. If nothing else, do your self the favor of listening to peace of mind.

SampliFire - Bonefire
50

There's a world where these two bring out the best in each other.

This is not that world...

Grabbitz - Blood On My Hands
85

I didn't know Grabbitz got down like that.

MUERTE - HALO SCAR
80

I always find myself excited by the release of a Muerte track because of how talented he is as a composer. This track is a good example of how a well-crafted intro and midsection can elevate the drops

INFEKT - OBSCURE VIBE
69

I appreciate the idea, just wish it did a bit more than the quarter notes.

Ray Volpe - IDFWU (RAY VOLPE REMIX)
30

I like the melodic parts, with the bells and stuff. Sucks otherwise.

HOL! - BORN LOUD
50

Thank god the Eminem track isn't on this EP.

I'm not against clipping or distortion (the Beastboi. track that came out today is a very good example of how it can be used to good effect). But man, having almost every track on this EP be this clipped while also taking a fairly similar approach to each track does not make for a fun listen.

Riddim can be such a fun genre of music, but man, do something more with it than this...

beastboi. - DIRT PONY
95

Beastboi. is simply on another level compared to every other riddim producer out there. This is not up for discussion.

I feel a lot of riddim producers have forgotten about how fun it is for a track to be bouncy, and that's something Beastboi understands perfectly.

Wooli - Jazz Cabbage
55

I hate everything about this except the bass in the second drop. So a measured improvement for Wooli IMO.

"I reads as if a lot of the personality that made Disciple what it once was has been stripped from it, and they think that the label can run off of brand recognition alone. Which, in fairness, might not be entirely wrong if the song selection manages to be consistently decent to good."

"NGL, I liked it better when the bar was on the side. It made the covers feel like they could be CD's idk."

"Whenever a project is rated by non-edm fans it seems to get a lower score than it really deserves. Not always, but often enough that it makes a pattern."

"@OctoMarkus the voyd compilations felt like a love letter to the Dubstep scene. This remix feels like Wooli got his hands on the SLB stems and slapped them on a track he already had made for clicks."

"No amount of warning could have prepared me for that drop. Funniest song I've heard all week."

"You said what I've been thinking for a while now. Compared to the Upgrade EP, Pixel Terrors new direction pales in comparison imo."
