Solange - When I Get Home

This album caught me from surprise in a good way. I really enjoyed her last album "A seat at the table" but the run-time on it made me return less on it with some of the deeper cuts on there feeling not as fully fleshed out. However with her newest album 'When I get home' shows Solange maturing as a songwriter and the production on here feeling lively. What makes this a great album in my eyes is the list of collaboration features that complement the aesthetics on here. The most notably is my nigga playboi carti on the track "Almeda' elevating the song to new heights. The run time on here compared to her last album is much more rewarding, to which there ain't no fillers that drag the whole album experience. I can see some concerns of the record being too airy at times thus feeling more repetitive but to me personally I never felt it dragging at all. Overall, this is definitely a early runner of not only being the best neo-soul/rnb album of the year but my aoty so far.
