CRANE MUSIK!!!! Goes so fkn hard. Big fan of the vocals, his lyrics are always so visceral

Pilotredsky - Clock Like Woz

PRS at his absolute best, never fails to put me in a fantastic mood. It’s seriously insane to me how many memorable moments and motifs he manages to squeeze into three and a half minutes here, highlights for me include the brief drum solo at 1:39 and the bass reprising the A melody at 2:21. I’d sell my soul to see this song performed by a live band someday

Swans - Soundtracks for the Blind

Sorry Swans but I think GY!BE beat you to the punch as the honorary "post-rock band that reframed my perception of music as a teenager"

Shawn DropStackss - FAST TWERK PT1

This is so disorienting but in like the best way possible. The entire time I was listening I just sat there bobbing my head to whatever beat I could hold onto in silent bewilderment. I know the “post-“ term gets thrown around a lot these days but this is legit like post-Jersey club. Is this all improvised? Because if so then it’s absolutely unbelievable

Yanokami - Yanokami

I knew before listening that this is essentially just Rei Harakami but with vocals, and I already love Harakami so I was bound to love this too. Apparently Akiko Yano is kind of a big deal in Japan, she’s sang alongside a bunch of artists and has been compared to the likes of Kate Bush. I think she sounds really good on here, her whispery yet passionate vocals and playful piano accompaniment add an extra dimension of mystique and charm to Harakami’s ethereal, blippy electronic ... read more

Piana - ephemeral

The vocal style feels kinda contrived to me but the production is so pretty that I don’t really mind all that much. One of those albums that just lets you escape, if only for a moment

Cameron Winter - Heavy Metal

Is it just me or does he sound like a drunk Will Toledo sometimes

leroy - NOTHING LASTS FOREVER (EVERY DETAIL U HAVE EVER TOLD ME)

Holy shit the Music sample. Holy shit the Jelly sample. I’m in heaven

leroy - I DID THIS FOR US

LEROY GOES BROSTEP!!! The hardstyle kicks near the end just seal the deal

Cheesy Hfj - Rotating pirate ship

More scattershot than Bart simpson bouncing but still pretty nice overall. The Cherry-Colored Funk interpolation on Where’s Your Comfort is pretty geniu

Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra - He Has Left Us Alone But Shafts of Light Sometimes Grace the Corner of Our Rooms…

Of course 13 Angels is absolutely iconic but the rest of the record suffers from being nowhere near as transcendent

AFX - Hangable Auto Bulb

One of the best things about Aphex Twin is that as long as you dig deep enough you just never run out of new shit to listen to, man is just a music-making machine. Anyways the percussion work on this is pretty nuts for being recorded in 1995. I’ve heard Arched Maid Via RDJ before and it obviously absolutely slaps, the way he basically turns an ordinary synth into a wailing electric guitar is so badass. Laughable Butane Bob is honestly pretty sick too; it’s only a little over 3 ... read more

DJ Tameil - Game Over!

Curiosity over the origin of Jersey club led me here. Really fun

After - After EP
78

Obviously kinda cheesy but maybe that’s part of what I like about it. Also Justine Dorsey has the perfect voice for this kind of music

Current Value - Revealing the Concealed

Apparently pilotredsun took inspiration from the voice on Fear for his hamburger helper video which is kinda cool

Sam Gellaitry - IV
77

Fuck you Instagram, I was considering deleting you for what a cesspit you’ve become but it’s only because of you that I’ve discovered what an absolute banger Assumptions is

ACO - irony

Genuinely very curious what the story behind this album is when everything before it is trip hop and everything after it is J-pop. What inspired her to go in this super experimental direction with her music just to never return to it again?
