the screams in “contact”, the tension throughout “jenni”, the emotional strain, and after months of internal debate, i have finally concluded that this is the better big thief record of ‘19; this is 2019’s gem, possibly being its most underrated album.

u.f.o.f. is big thief ascending into a beautiful dream (as if they hadn’t already). this album is extremely impressive and memorable.

“orange” —> “century” —> “strange” —> “betsy” into “terminal paradise”! this stretch of songs are ... wow: like all songs which appear on ‘ufof’, they are solid and complex.
