Patrick Watson’s stark emotions are stunningly impressive. he captures a glimpse of a detailed, atmospheric, minimalist world in a bottle underwater. the album artwork has a splash of water between patrick’s name, representing how submerged this work sounds. once one notices, the oddly-fun music, the weight of the world is an evolving universe thereafter

‘Close to Paradise' is close to perfection. the entire first eleven tracks truly are perfect, culminating in track eleven: “The Great Escape”, which is lowkey my favorite song. after many years, the rest of the tracks are the same
