One Direction - FOUR
80

Can’t tell you how No Control wasn’t their biggest hit by a wide margin.

Sunny Day Real Estate - Diary
84

Starts super good, middle is okay, and the final two songs are killer.

Darko - Pt. 1 Dethmask
85

It’s really just three really heavy, really good songs and three okay interludes.

Teen Suicide - i will be my own hell because there is a devil inside my body
78

Pretty good first half, like the initial album. All of the bonus songs (that aren't featured in this tracklist) aside from No The Moon are nothing burger songs that sound both shitty and good. Initial album would get like 83ish, but I’m counting all of the songs that are officially attached to this project.

Portishead - Dummy
93

This album fucking rules.

Nick Drake - Pink Moon
84

This is definitely a second listen bodes a higher review type of album. Quite simply a man and his guitar.

Ice Nine Kills - A Work of Art
60

I’m conflicted. This is a talented band who really really jumped the shark on the theatricality. I like the really heavy bits and it’s a good way to progress the song. The chorus is very octanecore, for better or for worse. The bridge/breakdown is really catchy. The “omg we’re so zany” sounds are, at best, on brand, especially for Terrifier. At worst, they’re a distracting thing to get through on every listen, if that comes for me. And then that theatre kid ... read more

Avenged Sevenfold - Avenged Sevenfold

I thought A Little Piece of Heaven was amazing in 2007. I think it’s one of the worst aging songs with some of the coolest little things going for it. Love any Rev inclusion on the album.

Phoebe Bridgers - Punisher
86

This is just such a strong consistently excellent album. Savior Complex is definitely the highlight.

Lucy Dacus - No Burden
80

Good voice, great voice. Just a little boring at times.

Evanescence - Fallen
87

This is a banger album.

Korn - Follow The Leader
80

It’s heavy and unhinged and all, but there’s a lot of misses to justify 13 songs.

Siouxsie and the Banshees - Juju
87

Definitely went into this thinking, “yeah I’ll probably kindaaa like it.” My god, is it explosive and energetic and catchy and magical. Monitor to Night Shift to Sin In My Heart is such a blissful run, it’s a clear induction that “yeah this album fucks.”

Heriot - Devoured by the Mouth of Hell
87

Excellent debut album. Visage is such an unbelievable highlight.

HEALTH - ASHAMED
91

This is definitely a better version of Ashamed, but it’s like… Japan changing their flag color, like yes, the newer version is more saturated, but it’s not some crazy update.

HEALTH - RAT WARS
82

Fantastic production, love the pacing, but you can tell what songs are the highlights.

Metallica - Master of Puppets
97

Best Metallica album and it’s not even close.

Three Days Grace - One-X
76

Aside from the singles, there’s not a whole lot in memorable tracks. Adam sounds really good on a lot of the songs which gives bonus points, but it’s a very stereotypical “post-grunge but we’re a bit more hot topic” vibe.

"While King Park is the more emphasis on the heavier post-hardcore that I enjoy and TLLC is probably my favorite La Dispute song lyrically, ECF could go down as the most definitive La Dispute song."

"Even though I’m not the biggest expert on trip hop, would you consider the second half of their song Redecorate as trip hop?"
