This album is a great follow up to twin fantasy. It’s a big change in style from Will’s previous work, and I don’t think it’s a bad thing by any means. I don’t think it’s even close to on par with twin fantasy, but it’s still a great album that’s worth listening to.
A genuine masterpiece of an album. On par with face-to-face, and better in some aspects. The only thing that makes me continue to like ftf more is that I prefer Beach Life-in-Death on that album over this one. My favorite track is Famous Prophets (Minds). My least favorite track is Stop Smoking.
This album makes me feel less alone with my LOVE for shoulders. Thank you Will Toledo!
I really enjoyed this one. I don't have a ton to say, but I CAN TALK WITH MY EYES SHUT is a genuine 10/10. A few songs weren't great, but overall I enjoyed most of them.
Easily the best of the number albums. There's not a single miss in this album, though some songs are better than others. My favorite track is the ghost of bob saget, my least favorite track is heartless dick.
There are only a couple misses in this album, and they still aren't bad by any means. This album is such a huge improvement from the last two. The lyricism really improves here. Favorite track is beach death, least favorite track is foreign song.
A little better than 1, but still far from perfect. Much more consistent in quality than 1, with lower peaks and higher lows. Several of the songs had endings that just killed my ears for seemingly no reason. Favorite track is ...then it will be exactly the same as earth. Least favorite is reversible jacket.
This is a hard one to rate. It’s really hit or miss. I don’t hate it by any means, but I don’t love it either. Kid war specifically is really good, as is up all night, though kid war is definitely my favorite. Almost all of the songs suffer heavily from Toledo’s use of reverse, with the only actually good use of reverse being in his shiny customers. The vibe that Toledo created in several of the songs is really well done but is usually ruined by one thing or another. By ... read more
I really liked this one! The first few songs were a little bit underwhelming but it really picked up starting at track 4. The final track is strange but not bad by any means. Despite the funny ending and partially because of it, it still gets the message across very well.
Pretty good. This one really had to grow on me though. I would have given it a 60 on first listen. The main complaint is that it feels like this album can't seem to decide what it wants to be. I still like every song except for the title track pretty well. The title track is pretty mid. I don't know what my favorite song is tbh.
I really like this one. It's pretty loud but I didn't find it unbearably loud, even though I can see how some people could. I don't have a lot to say about this one. I just really enjoy listening to it. Keep Slipping Away is my favorite probably but every song is honestly pretty close to me.
This is an incredible album in pretty much every way. The only complaint that I have is that the lyrics are VERY blunt at some points, which might be fine for some people, but it almost takes away some of the meaning for me or something. Toxicity is my favorite on here and ATWA is a close second.
well made, but not my thing. I enjoyed listening to it once, but I don't see myself listening to it again. I like Lovefield and Hollywood Forever a lot.
The first few songs weren't my favorite, but everything after Fling was top notch. The instrumental is great through, lyricism is questionable, vocals are good throughout. The vocals and instrumental doesn't always work out super well together, though.
Trying to seperate the soundtrack from the game here is very difficult. They go so hand in hand to me that I can't think of the music without thinking of the game. With the context of the game, this is an easy 100, but I will limit myself since a lot of the music admittedly doesn't work nearly as well outside of it.
This soundtrack has such a weird effect on me. I don't know exactly what it is, but it makes me incredibly emotional. The game is incredible, go play it. The soundtrack is also amazing.
