Singer-songwriter Jonna Lee probably knew that when she decided to ditch her label-supported career in 2009 and start anew with her producer Claes Björklund she would have a rough time. But becoming independent artists would make them one of the most innovative acts of the 2010s.
What garnered a small fan-community with six little weird introduction videos stayed small even after Lee's face was finally revealed in their sixth audiovisual song 't'. iamamiwhoami have been one of the first ... read more

Impersonator is a conversation. But it's not a conversation with the listener. Devon Welsh is talking to his friends, to impactful people in his life or to a part of himself that is unconscious and which he tries to elicit. He doesn't try to make the listener empathize or identify with him. He just has something he wants to get off his chest. And you're privileged to get to hear it accompanied by Matthew Otto's soft yet incredibly impactful electronic sounds.

In a decade defined by the growing political right and celebrated albums fighting against this development, it is of course a privilege to ... read more

Silent Shout is an album that somehow takes what it needs from every niche of electronic music there is to create something totally unique. The fact that the album still has its own distinctive sound and is not all over the place stresses the genius of this work. Not one song here is skippable, not one song sounds like the other. It's so ahead of its time while sounding so carelessly good, that the only logical evolution of The Knife was exactly the completely mad Shaking the Habitual we got in ... read more

May I ask why you have Arrival by ABBA rated so high? Don't get me wrong that's a fun album, it just seems strange compared to everything else you've scored highly.
