This project was my introduction to YVES as an artist, since I never got a chance to appreciate her work in LOONA before. I went in blind, and I'm so glad I trusted that one stan account on Twitter a year ago. LOOP is a great debut and shows that there's huge potential for her to become one of the best soloists one day.

YVES and IOAH are a duo that should work together for a long time. The projects they created together so far all smash, and their sounds complement each other in a way I can't imagine with anyone else. Production on this project is stunning, and I especially love the smoothness of DIORAMA.

The first two songs are much stronger than the other half of the EP, but at the same time, they're not awful to an insane amount. Every song is enjoyable at the right time, and there are no bad songs on the project. Even tho I heard mixed opinions about the LIL CHERRY feature, I feel like it fits very well on the song, and shows another side of her that is more than just a meme.

As you can probably guess from the above, my favorite song is DIORAMA, which really captures my attention with its R&B vibe, and this calming kind of production, I simply cannot get over ever since I first heard it. Another one that needs a shoutout is LOOP, which was the song that initially got me into YVES. This track has this PINKPANTHERESS dancy vibe I'm completely smitten with since last year, and the LIL rap verse that makes the transition from verse to the chorus much more interesting is a CHERRY on top.

When it comes to the weak parts of the album, I would say that the latter two songs are making the rating lower than it would be without them. AFTERGLOW, as a song, is pretty alright, but it also doesn't stand out much. The production on it is very chill, and the track feels summery in a good way, so it makes me feel like, in the right setting, I would enjoy it a lot. This doesn't change the fact that the lyrics are not the most catchy ones, and they are pretty whatever to me. When it comes to GOLDFISH, I simply don't feel the connection with it. It is a cute ballad with cute vocals, but I feel like it would be so much better if YVES actually wrote it herself. That's just the feeling I get, and now that I saw that she can actually write, with her version of MOM that wasn't used in the end on SOFT ERROR, I became even more convinced that this might be my problem with the song.

In the end, I can't say it's a bad project, because it's a gorgeous EP for a debut. I fell in love with the first two songs, and I'm ready to fall in love again if she ever releases another project, maybe an entire album this time, with this R&B or dancy vibe. This was my introduction to her work, and it made me stay with her, so I will forever have some kind of affection towards it.
