K.I.D.S., the 5th mixtape by Mac Miller. Originally, I gave this mixtape a 13/100, that was over 16 months ago. I do think my rating was very harsh, as this mixtape has grown on me A LOT over the past year. I do like the summer-ish vibe his mixtape gives off! Really fits the mood. I love the sample usage in this project, especially on "The Spins" "sampling" EOTS like that. This is a really solid mixtape, and I think I was far too harsh originally and I totally think you ... read more
The 4th mixtape from Malcolm James McCormick. Definitely more alive than his previous records, sounds a LOT like J. Cole, I get that they both came up around the same time, and they are completely different rappers, but the flow sounds just like J. Cole's old mixtapes. WHICH ARE FUCKING AWESOME BTW. Like I could see the track "Musical Chairs" being a Cole song. The production on this project is also a HUGE improvement from his last mixtapes, I love it! This is the first mixtape ... read more
The third mixtape and second solo mixtape from the beloved Mac Miller. Really had high expectations for this but it just sounds like some shit you'd hear at a frat party. Definitely his worst work thus far in his career, but don't get me wrong. This project still has some highlights like "What Up Cousin" and "Got A Clue" but those are overshined heavily by the lowlights, at the beginning of EVERY track there is the excessive "mixtape DJ sound effects" ... read more
Excellent follow up to his breakout mixtape, "But My Mackin' Ain't Easy". This the second mixtape by Mac Miller. I really enjoyed this mixtape, though it is very long, it really shows how his sound is unique compared to other rappers in his era. Lots of material to look into in this project, tracks like: Like Aaay! and Open Ya Eyes have the greatest production out of any mixtape I've heard in a while. Really solid beginning to a legendary artist.

Awesome first project to a legendary artist!
Very underwhelming project from Donald Glover, but unfortunately this is the last project he is releasing under Childish Gambino, (and maybe music as a whole?). But anyways, a year ago when this came out I thought it was going to be AOTY material, but I was mistaken. The lead single "Lithonia" gave me HUGE expectations. Not his best work, still tolerable.
Favorite tracks: Lithonia, Survive, Talk My Shit, Real Love, Dadvocate
Wasn't a bad album, I don't typically listen to this kind of stuff, but this is not something I will 100% come back to. It feels like music that you would hear at the mall, what I'm saying is that this is basically background music, meant to have a lot of streams and meant to be played on the radio or at the store. I was not impressed.
Favorite tracks: Prey, Wiped Out!, Baby Came Home 2 / Valentines
This is the first project by the legendary Biosphere that I have listened to! I gotta say, I am quite impressed with this project! Although, the beginning of the album was kinda bad, (Skålbrekka and Strandby). But tracks like Bergsbotn 1 and Bjorvika TOTALLY make up for it. I LOVED Bjorvika, even though it was just rain, the sound of rain is always calming, then came the long masterpiece "Berg". Anyways, I feel like the album progressively got better and better, typically ... read more
This was an AWESOME record! I had never heard anything from this project by Father2006, but I have heard stuff from their other projects under this name, and I gotta say this was wayyy better than the other 2. This project is fucking crazy, from beginning to the middle, towards the end of the project with tracks like "White" and "Death" I did not find very pleasing, which is why I gave this a 90 instead of a 95 or even a 100. But overall, SOLID "Dark Ambient" ... read more
This is the first collaborative "Dark Ambient" project I have rated, and I gotta say, that this is not good. I mean from the beginning the cover kinda just freaked me out, as it shows lots of mysterious looking figures hanging from a tree. The first track sounded aright, I liked the bells, but as the album progressed the "Ritual Ambient" aspect started to appear a lot more. I was not a fan of that. Tracks like Better in My Day and Throne sounded downright terrible. The track ... read more
This album sounds like Antarctica, I have no idea how to explain it, it feels cold, windy, and really ambient. I do find it interesting that all the tracks are titled with coordinates to Antarctic locations. I feel like this album really shows the mysteriousness of Antarctica, and how the common man knows nothing about it. Shoutout to my friend, and fellow aoty user @Dreamyreviews for suggesting I check this out! Go follow him if you haven't already!

Initially I wasn't going to listen to this and review this, as I don't typically listen to this kind of stuff, but holy shit. This is fucking awesome, I'm honestly kinda bummed out that this is really short, but the replay value will 100% make up for it. This is the definition of a "short and sweet" project, I totally recommend checking this out if you haven't yet.
Favorite tracks: Ilegal, Stars, Stateside, Romeo
Alright, I have finally listened to every project released under Aphex Twin. I'm going to be very straightforward with this, I didn't expect this to be good at all. My expectations became reality when I started listening to this project, the tracks had no titles, it was too fucking long, I mean I know it's a compilation and not a studio album but holy shit, ATLEAST title the tracks and maybe shorten the fuckass throwaway album. These are GENERIC IDM sounds! WHERE is the Aphex ... read more
Solid project, not his best work, still good.

HOW do you go from making Drukqs and Syro TO THIS SHIT. THIS IS HOT ASS. GARBAGE. (snar2 had so much potential)
Favorite tracks: diskhat ALL prepared1mixed 13, piano un10 it happened
Syro, Syro, Syro.. After a 14 year hiatus, Richard D James. is back with another classic! I really liked how this album began, with a 4/4 run of tracks 1-4. The only things keeping this album from being a 12/12 is 180db_ and fz psudeotimestretch+e+3. The track in between those 2 songs (CIRCLONT6A) must feel trapped. The rest of the album is so fire though, and then another insane 5 track run from tracks 8-12. Anyways, this album felt like drukqs leftovers (which are awesome), and it is another ... read more
THIS SHIT IS FUCKING PERFECT. Starts off with one of my favorite Aphex tracks of all time (Jynweythek) and then it get better overtime, tracks like Strotha Thyne and Bbydyonchord are fucking goated aswell, this LP has a very strong start. Cock/ver10 and Avril 14th make it even better, the first 10 tracks are fucking awesome. I like Avril 14th a lot though because Kanye West samples it in one of his best songs "Blame Game", maybe that's why It's the highest streamed on ... read more
Pretty typical EP from Mr. Aphex Twin, the title track was awesome, and the 2 extra tracks are pretty filler (as per usual). Formula was pretty poop. and Nannou was just mid in general. I think Mr. James went 1.5/3 for this record.
Favorite track: Windowlicker
OK, so this album started off really really bad. I DID NOT LIKE THE PAPPY MIX. I do like Flim however, the switchup was quite confusing, but it's fine, Flim may be top 20 Aphex twin of all time!? Anyways let's get to the Come to Daddy mixes, the best one was Little Lord Faulteroy, then Pappy, then the M*mmy mix. THE MUMMY MIX WAS SO FUCKING BAD, so was the intro to TCAWC but that was later made up for as the track had a cool switchup, and I fw it. and then to top it all of IZ-US, ... read more
