The outtakes albums simply shouldn’t be this good in ANY capacity but Sufjan, for me, sets the bar way higher than all the other artists i’m familiar with without even trying all that hard so that was expected to be my reaction to it! Some INCREDIBLE TRACKS!
Superstar girl more alive than ever before! WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA has that absolutely perfect flow to it that makes each song better with every listen and gives them a chance to shine on their own at some point. Once the album hits it’s impossible to unpress play or skip a single track. Addictive is the word! And that’s art!
My least favourite project from Sigur Ros so far, and it's still way above my average ratings, what can i say...? They couldn't have missed for me even if they tried. Hvarf and ATTA next!
In general - above average, but for a Boards of Canada record it was maybe a little too one-note for me to fully enjoy it and not feel disappointed. Still not a bad or mid album, just a one that’s quite harder to absorb.
This is her best debut album by MILES! So glad that she finally found the sound she’s been searching for this whole time. Through the first couple of tracks to Need For Speed and lastly Freak It, the record has some unmatched energy in many of the tracks. #StillMadAboutPopSoundTho
Inferno might be the most outstanding thing i’ve heard in music this year so far! It perfectly balances between haunting/sinister and transcendent/heavenly. Some moments like Blood In The Labyrinth or You Retreat In Time And Space made me feel the way barely any music from this decade managed to do. Maybe my personal favourite material that Boards of Canada had released throughout all of the years of their career, although Music Has The Right To Children and Geogaddi are strong contenders ... read more
Bleachers’ 5th record is simply a much more entertaining and realised rendition of their previous one. everyone for ten minutes may not have a single song quite as energetic and fun as Tiny Moves, but at the same time it works better from the very first minutes of the album, when that energy is pumped through more stripped back acoustics, which just seems to work. And even though, as the track list goes on it may feel similarly dragged on, it’s still a pleasing piece of music as a ... read more
That was quite literally a definition of an album that’s just so very CUTE! But at the same time it’s a highly impressive debut downtempo/teen-pop record!
I swear to God, if Pop Sound doesn’t find its way to be on Detour i’ll riot! I don’t care if it’s already a part of this Pretour EP, I believe she knows she has a possible best album track of hers on her hands and she’ll figure it out! Other tracks on here are fine, inoffensive, not as mind-blowing but I guess I could listen to them again at some time.
Jamie could’ve easily been a part of the standard album, it’s got something i’ve been kind of missing on it since day one. Love the other new track and the demos/drafts of No Front Teeth and Clean Heart as well, a very interesting, different take on these tracks.
It is undoubtedly interesting sonic-wise, but I guess that others just hear something I simply can't, which is fine. Really liked Mary Bell, Down Desire Avenue and the closing track tho!
Slowcore rarely gets THIS hypnotic, lynchian almost. This is definitely going to my Daughters of Cain lists and playlists, everything about it reminds me of some of the best works of Ethel Cain, Have a Nice Life, Duster or even Grouper. I just bet Hayden knows and loves this project just as much as I do.
I'm getting emotional over a DJ mix record, Kelela, you are unreal! The non-stop soundscape of this is just incredible, the power of ambient and electronic music in full exposure!
i don’t care if the production on this goes actually a little crazy sometimes i don’t want to hear that squeaky little voice saying north-chan ever again
expected something way way worse and some of the tracks turned out to be a more polished, realised and even a little experimental versions of the originals, which i mostly did not enjoy. girls trip as a whole remix album has some large sins on its record but what i believe zara has deep inside her shines through on here like on no other of the projects. it is not entirely as polished as i would expect from the recognition that she’s getting lately but the dance-europop-electronic is ... read more
