Björk - Vulnicura
100

I am finally back, and I will definitely finish my objective of reviewing every album Björk has created. Vulnicura is already one that will give me more motivation to do so with a perfect score!

The last few months have been quite a hectic ride, to be honest. A lot has changed in my life in such a short amount of time, which also meant that I had a lot less time to truly take in and think about the music I was listening to in that period of time. I came to notice that when stuff changes ... read more

Björk - Biophilia

Finally another Björk review!

I am back with my journey of completing Björk's discography, and we have reached Biophilia. This is again a straight masterpiece! Every song on this project teaches us about a musicology concept that relates to a natural phenomenon. Apparently the album also came with an app when it was released, which looked so cool when I watched videos of the app; you should definitely check it out! The app shows us once again how creative Björk is and that ... read more

Seu Jorge - Baile à la Baiana

Brazilll!!!

Seu Jorge is such a big figure in Brazilian music that I just had to check him out at least once, so that he brings out a new project in 2025 is the perfect opportunity to do so! My granddad actually recommended me to listen to him, and I was pretty excited to do so. But, to be honest, it's just an alright project with nothing too crazy. I do think it's crazy that Seu Jorge performs like he's in his mid-20s or something even though he isn't. On this project you ... read more

Dirty Projectors - Mount Wittenberg Orca

Fun collab!

Earlier this year I listened to the modern classical album that the "Dirty Projectors" released, and to be honest, I quite enjoyed it. I mean, it wasn't great, but it was a good listen. So when I saw a collab project with Björk, I was pretty interested in what this EP would sound like, and it for sure didn't disappoint.
Continuing my Björk journey, I had to listen to "Mount Wittenberg Orca", as it's a part of her discography as well. The ... read more

Massive Attack - Blue Lines
84

I'm starting a Massive Attack deep dive!

In some of my past reviews, I did an A$AP Rocky deep dive, but when he canceled his performance for "Pukkelpop" I got pissed and decided to stop that deep dive. Also, the fact that this so-called "artist" hasn't brought out anything for the last SEVEN years while being active on all socials (even being able to star in a movie) is just outrageous to me. So, I decided to shift my attention to Massive Attack because they have ... read more

Björk - Volta

THERE SHE IS!!!

We're back with the Björk journey, and today I am writing about her eighth project: Volta. I think Björk really puts out a masterpiece right here, and I am going to have to disagree with the popular opinion of this being an alrighty-good project; it's actually great! Volta, in my opinion, is way more approachable for people to listen to than the previous projects she has put out; hence, it's weird for me that this project only gets a 73 user score.
I ... read more

Björk - Drawing Restraint 9
41

By far her worst project I've heard up till now.

Drawing Restraint 9 is a soundtrack that was composed by Björk, and for the first time in her discography, I had a difficult time completely listening to it.
This project is very experimental and maybe too experimental for me; the lack of actual vocal performances or the lack of crazy clashes of sounds that Björk usually brings on her projects is something I am not familiar with. I feel like the minimalism here is very difficult ... read more

Los Pirañas - Una Oportunidad más de triunfar en la vida
73

Fun Latin project!

I discovered this group when I met my granddad at “Radio Centraal” in Antwerp with my best friend. To be honest, I am really happy that I discovered this more underground group because they make some pretty good music. This project is completely instrumental and has some trippy effects added to it. Los Pirañas takes you into this Latin world of funky jams you can dance to but also some more laid-back grooves that take your mind on a trip. Sometimes the ... read more

Björk - Medúlla
72

!!!UPDATE: NEW FAVORITE SONG!!!
-> I also feel like this project has grown on me even more so, I will update this rating by the end of 2025.

This really had to grow on me...

Björk comes out with one of the most experimental albums I have ever listened to, "Medúlla", and it surely wasn't that easy to get into and be able to enjoy. Medúlla brings us a world of voices that all come together and replace instruments to give a feeling of going back in time, but ... read more

A$AP Rocky - LONG.LIVE.A$AP

WE BACKKK!

I've been away for some time now because of studying for my final exams, which I all passed! So now that it is summer, the festival and the overall music-discovering season have officially begun. I am continuing with my road to listening to every A$AP Rocky project, as I will be seeing his performance at Pukkelpop!!
So, LIVE.LOVE.A$AP, what a great album. Rocky has truly developed in his style of rapping and again brings this super cool album, which is just an overall vibe from ... read more

Lupe Fiasco - Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor
94

THIS TOOK ME SOOO LONG!

Lupe is too big of a genius for me; this album took me over a week of analyzing and over 7 pages of actual analysis to not even understand all of his bars. It is actually really cool what he put out on his debut album, as he touches on a lot of deep, controversial, and difficult subjects. As I already said, Lupe is a true genius and masters the use of metaphors and double/triple entendres; he just blew my mind away on almost every track. When you really dig deep into ... read more

BANKS - Off With Her Head
58

Can get pretty boring at times.

BANKS comes out with her fifth studio album, and it's a pretty mediocre listen. I chose to add this album to my list of must-listen albums of 2025 because the genre really spoke to me, and I was quite intrigued to see "Doechii" and "Sampha" as features on here. Ultimately the "Sampha" track was really good (more on that later), but the "Doechii" track let me down a bit... as she enters the track in a pretty loud and ... read more

Björk - Vespertine
100

The best album I have ever heard.

I'm back continuing my journey of listening to all of Björk's projects. For this month I have listened to "Vespertine", which is widely seen as her best album. Most of the time I don't want to follow the norm, but I just can't disagree on this one. So far it is my favorite album of hers, and I will keep you updated if this changes (but I think it won't). From the instrumentation to the production to the vocals to the ... read more

Ray Vaughn - The Good The Bad The Dollar Menu
94

HOW TF IS THIS A DEBUT?!?!

Ray Vaughn releases his first project, and it's near perfect in my opinion. I don't know how to start this review because there is so much to talk about. This mixtape, that in my opinion is more of an album than any album released this year because of the coherence of the tracks, addresses the life of Ray Vaughn and all the struggles he's dealt with in his life. Ray's storytelling is truly remarkable, and you really should watch an analysis to ... read more

Magdalena Bay - Mercurial World
94

Truly a mercurial sound of music!

How do I start this...? I am flabbergasted this project is next-level great! From the production to the vocals, everything was on point. Last year I obviously listened to "Imaginal Disk" and personally, I think it was the best album of 2024. So I was really excited to listen to this project as well! And it for sure didn't disappoint. Magdalena Bay is a fantastic duo that can take you to this, in fact, "Mercurial World" where every ... read more

Liliane Saint-Pierre - Soldiers of Love

This is the most complex song I have ever heard, full review coming soon!

Q - 10 songs
73

5 (pretty good) songs...

Q comes out with his first ever mixtape, and it's quite a fun listen!
I was scrolling on TikTok, when I passed a video of someone describing Q as "the new Frank Ocean", and to be honest I kinda get it tho. Frank Ocean isn't the only artist you can link with these songs; I feel like Q experiments with a lot of different sounds on his mixtape, which is really good because that is what a mixtape is for... I feel like he can also sound like ... read more

A$AP Rocky - LIVE.LOVE.A$AP

SO HYPED FOR HIS CONCERT!!!!

This year I'm going to "Pukkelpop" and I will be seeing Rocky live!!!!
So, I decided to go through his whole discography, starting off with "LIVE.LOVE.A$AP". I am truly blown away after listening to this mixtape... Of course, I knew some Rocky songs, but I never listened to a complete project of his, if I'm being honest hahahaha. The production blows me away; the chopped and screwed style works so good here, like it's crazy! Rocky ... read more

Babe Rainbow - Slipper imp and shakaerator

Trippy soundsss

Babe Rainbow comes out with their sixth studio album, and it's a pretty trippy and fun listen! There are a lot of upbeat songs that couldn't make you have a bad trip if you're listening to this under the influence of some psychedelics. You get a really cool mashup of these flickering sounds and groovy bass lines, which is just so much fun to listen to. The combination of these sounds with the perfect voice of "Angus Dowling" just works so well together! ... read more

Björk - Selmasongs

WATCH THE MOVIE!

I'm back and continuing my journey of listening to all of Björk's music. This time I am reviewing Björk's first soundtrack of a movie she starred in herself. The movie was quite interesting, and one you should definitely check out if you love Björk's work! I won't be spoiling anything about the movie, so you're safe to read if you haven't watched it yet.

"Selmasongs" is a cool and intense project, but definitely not ... read more
