For metalcore, The Silent Circus doesn't necessary separate itself too much from the standard especially during the early 2000's, but with the incorporation of progressive metal and more emphasis on technical display which makes Between The Buried and Me's second studio album stand out a bit more than their debut, it comes off chaotic, heavy and aggressive and filled with energy and although it doesn't stand out above other acts during its time, they managed to make the sound super enjoyable especially due to its more complex nature making for quite an entertaining listen and one which helped set the cornerstone for their sound, which is so beautifully show by easily the best song in the track listing Mordecai.
