I’m rating this just to show support for what you guys are doing for people like me… I think it’s amazing and im just so grateful… truly an indescribable feeling to know that people give a shit about my music 🤣. I talked to Carter about it and we were like yeah we just went on living and assumed nobody would hear it… but we didn’t care. We made this because this is what we do. This is how we cope, how we let ourselves feel. How we remind ourselves ... read more

"I was absolutely geeked reading your review, probably my favorite on here just because you were spitting my bars in the reviews 😭. Thank you. WE SENT SOME DUDE ON FIVER THE PHOTOS WE WANTED TO INCORPORATE AND THE VISION FOR HOW WE WANTED IT ARRANGED ABD HE JUST WENT NUTTY🤣. Naaah I love the cover and the Easter eggs in there… the solara i mentioned on DOMF, the Sun I snapped a photo of at my sisters funeral representing the “Morning Sunrise”. The theme of the album is grown so we had to incorporate some baby pics. I took the photo of me in the mask in Colorado in front of Union Station when I visited Carter to work and record this beauty… themes of faith so I asked that photographer in Brazil if we could use his photo with the ⚡️"

"I think that was the biggest challenge for me… opening up and being vulnerable… I LIKE songs like Firebird cuz I always loved to freestyle and cypher… but that don’t require vulnerability. Toward the second half of the album though I wanted yall to feel me. Feel the emotion behind the words and see how much people could understand and relate to those pain points like loss and addiction. Appreciate you giving this a listen."

"Also appreciate the love on Once was Love … ngl I don’t make many songs like that I’m more into heavy barred up raw verses and once was love was prolly the track I was least confident about. However, it grew on me too… production is fire with some of the best scratches Carter has ever done in his life and that second part where I come back in is absolutely A-Tier."

"Morning Sunrise… I was having these dreams where my mom (she passed 3 years ago now) was coming and talking to me. But it was confusing tf out me cuz in reality I was adopted… I never met her face to face until her actual funeral… why was I dreaming bout her? I realized it’s because I missed her. So I asked myself… how do you miss someone you never actually knew? I answered my question with this song… just because I was unfamiliar with her in this plane of existence doesn’t mean my soul and spirit don’t ache and yearn to have her back and close to me. My spirit always knew her. My spirit remembers when it was just me in her belly and she was homeless… on the streets… on a drug bender. But that was the last time we were together…"

"I had to make an account just to say thank you. That album was such a journey and really my first success at a cohesive project. Carter just sent me this link and it genuinely made my day. I’m just a dude in South Florida who always loved music and always loved writing. I didn’t think anybody would care or appreciate or love something that I made. The fact you went out of your way to listen and then recommend (even when it got taken down) means the world to me. More music coming soon from me and from Carter. He’s working on Sound Sermon 2 and then we both have solo projects in the works… but that next collab album, when it comes is going to be a masterclass in wtf we do. Thank all yall and anyone who reads this."

"We greatly appreciate the listen! What kind of boom bap do you like? I try to stay away from the propagation of violence and drugs sex etc in my bars cuz that stuff doesn’t serve a purpose to me. I channel my grievances in the music and that’s what this album is about. We all grown up now but shit just seemed to stack up and work against us… but despite everything we are still grateful for the successes no matter how minor, the love no matter how fleeting, and the memories no matter how bad."
