Not as big as it thinks it is
Not saying it is devoid of good things of course, there are a couple of songs I actually do enjoy to an extent, although I do not agree with all of their artistic decisions, and there are good ideas spread across this album. However, those ideas rarely are executed well. First of all, the lyrics, though can be heartfelt, tend to be written in a cringey way, that paired with the over-pronounced singing gives off an annoying and sometimes complaining impression, which is more than not degrading to the ears. Secondly, the songs are way overproduced, so any thought or meaning that was pumped into the instrumentation or lyrics is squeezed out by how big and stadium-like it can tend to sound, leaving it hollow at the core. Lastly, and probably the most incriminating, the songs generally are immensely inoffensive. I come out a track feeling the same when I came into it. And when it does try to do something interesting, it fails 98% of the time. Don't see myself coming back to this one.
