I think the reason that this might not be translating too well between critics and users is that this is an incredibly British album, and it feels important in the country at the moment. The discussion womens safety, particularly after the murder of Sarah Everard and the current spiking epidemic, is at the forefront of everyone’s minds. As a young woman, Self Esteem has put together an album that is very fitting with the British climate right now.
