Surprised how low this album is rated, it's a great album. Every song has a place on this album and it's paced very well. Personal favorites are Downside, Gloomtown Brats, SXFT, and Idiots of Oz. I liked it but can tell it isn't for everybody, but fun.
Not as good as Venus and Mars but still underrated. There are a lot of great hits on this album that really help you overlook the lesser ones. Beware My Love, Silly Love Songs, San Ferry Anne, Warm and Beautiful, are all great. I enjoy McCartney's effort to get everyone on the album. Surprised Wino Junk is not very good after Medicine Jar. Cook of the House could have been left off and Time to Hide is just boring. But Beware My Love makes this album worth the quick listen, though you may skip ... read more
This probably McCartney's most underrated work. From start to finish, it is such a coherent album and great body of work. There's a reason why the band would perform most of these songs live. Best songs are the opening two songs, Medicine Jar, Call Me Back Again and Treat Her Gently/Lonely Old People. Great album that, like Band on the Run, doesn't have any bad songs on it.
Certain songs overstay its welcome but this album features the best songs of McCartney career in Band on the Run and 1985. Underrated songs are No Words and Mamunia, though that one is too long. There isn't a bad song on this 9-track album and gave Wings the lift they desperately needed.
This song is actually really good. The instrumentation is extremely good. Maybe brought down or forgotten a bit because of the lyrics but completely understand its intention. Worth a listen.
