I'm just rating the additional tracks in this album.

If there's only one thing I could take here, it's I.O.U. It might be my favorite KPop B-side this year. Despite not understanding Korean, that track almost made me tear up with how brilliant the production, the arrangement, and the vocal performance of the members. I've read the translated lyric too; while it certainly was cheesy, at least it was well-written.

Did these new songs affect the quality of the album as a whole? I personally ... read more

This albums feels like a bastard lovechild of sweetener and thank u, next. While the instrumentation on this whole thing feels adorable and sleek, it felt like there's nothing new served to the table here. The songs felt like a throwaway from its last two predecessors. And some of the hooks, my gosh, are so bland especially on "just like magic", "nasty", and "my hair".

It's not a terrible album, but as someone who regards sweetener as one of the best pop albums in ... read more

I've been trying hard to avoid albums that I know will not be good, but I somehow got curious to try this because of the okay single Bloody Valentine. Well, at least I have a new addition to my "below 40" rated albums.

I don't know what's up with SME right now but their NCT projects since last year have been very impressive.

The Mess.

I actually don't mind How You Like That as a pre-release, but this track turning out to be the "better" ones here disheartened me and it's not even that good. This album experience just felt so uneventful which is ironic because this is one of the most anticipated release this year.

Liked tracks: Ice Cream, You Never Know

No matter how horrible this year is turning out to be, there still are beauty and hope lingering all along. I think Shore represents that flicker of optimism within me still. I think this one is their most accessible record to listen to, but it's still a consistent folk record that gives me a jumpstart or something. Beautiful is already enough to describe this album. Jeez, I'm so thankful for the music this year.

Been listening to some Elverum's works for like a year now and I just realized I haven't rated some of the albums yet. lol

The Glow pt 2 is undeniably an indie folk masterpiece. An emotionally desolating album that can go warm and comfortable to insane and overwhelming... and it all makes sense. This album is one of my all-time faves. Phil Elverum's mind.

As a 21 year old guy, listening to something this profound about the uncertainties of life kind of messed me up, but it also somehow got me to reflect on what and how I look on definite things. Microphones in 2020 achieved on emanating these bared and devastating emotions into something artistic and wonderful.

Ever since I've heard this whole song/album, my mind couldn't get off Elverum's words about the state of all things being a waterfall and how it's all just chaos heaving. The whole thing ... read more

Listening to this one makes me feel optimistic or something. 2020 is losing my energy right now. Just take me to the clouds.

first listen: wow this is actually nice
third visit later: wow how did i like this

The album shrunk on me quickly. If it wasn't for Now I'm In It and Summer Girl, this would've been lower, but they were freaking bonus songs. wow

Faves: Los Angeles, The Steps, Gasoline, Don't Wanna, Now I'm In It, Hallelujah, Summer Girl
Least Fave: I've Been Down

I didn't expect to love a handful of metal albums this year, but I'm embracing them with my blown mind and my crushed soul. Heck yes.

Gaga sure has mastered this kind of music that's suitable for voguing or something. Her deep talk-singing that's been present since Artpop certainly adds a fashionable texture for the record.

With that being said, Chromatica, overall, was such a bland listen. It kinda aches me to say this because I think there were a lot of elements in this album that's on point. Lady Gaga's vocals and the story she's put out in here were indeed admirable. The songs were mostly on a good start because of her ... read more

We got hit by a typhoon last week which was the strongest I've ever experienced so far... and it all happened during this awful lockdown. Besides the arduous cleanup after the flood, my anxiety over everything has just got worsen for a lot of reasons. I'm telling you this because I weirdly got a little emotional when I was listening to "forever" while washing up my clothes. Imagine yourself getting a teary eye over listening to a dance song. lol

I've listened to this a lot of times before finalizing my thoughts. Fetch the Bolt Cutters took time for me to digest because I was so awed. I was speechless for like thirty minutes after my first listen. When I was chatting with my friend about the album, I couldn't think of any words to describe it. There's one thing for sure though: I loved it. The rawness and the angrier, uncompromising attitude of Fiona Apple were so refined and captivating.

Fetch the Bolt Cutters was indeed something ... read more

Good albums keep on coming and we're only in April. This time, Rina Sawayama released a bold pop album that's personal and empowering with full of confidence.

What I've loved about this album the most was the cohesion of the tracklist. The pace from cinematic Dynasty to the polarizing XS to the bursting STFU! and the bolstering CDG really blew my mind in a great way. It continued all the way through to the end which made the listening experience quite satisfying, even including the ones that ... read more

"lmao on those two likes from new accounts. While I agree that we all have our opinions (and the title track sounds something that NCT could kill), your review indeed really felt like a straight hate. You really made an account to shit on this album on the actual day of its release, and it indeed feels like a very low stoop, my guy."
