The goal of this list is to compile every noteworthy album in the history of the hip hop genre. I've selected albums which either clear a certain threshold of popularity or pique my interest for some other reason.
In my heart of hearts, my goal is to listen to this entire list in order, but how old I’d be upon completion of such a massive project… It’s too much to think about. Not to mention, dozens of new albums will be added to the list every year. I'll never keep up. Nevertheless, let this archive stand as a celebration and mega-anthology of the last American half-century's most seismic artistic movement.
