The album feels ethereal while at the same time chaotic and unbearable. It’s a perfect balance between the two and is also a great transitional point between Schlagenheim and Hellfire.
I was interested in this album because of the concept of it. A man essentially trying to find out the history of his family and past, and realizing how demented it truly is. So I decided to randomly listen to it last night. The moment that first song started going completely insane was the moment I started to realize that this album was going to be a journey. I’ve never had an album instantly hook me this easily from the moment I listened to it for the first time.

So I heard of Sparks and thought they sounded interesting, and I decided to listen to this album. It’s really great and makes me feel as if I’m floating, especially with Russell Mael’s ethereal voice, like he can take that falsetto to the sky. Great album, would recommend, and I would like to look more into what Sparks has to offer.
Great go-to album for when I’m working on school work or doing other things like drawing. Essential if you’re just getting into dream pop.
Also I like how you don’t even know a thing Fraser is saying despite her voice being much more clear to hear than my bloody valentine.
I need to start getting into Imogen Heap more, this is making me ascend. This is a pretty good pop album, and it feels so unreal to think that THIS was made in 2002, just two decades ago. The production and instrumentals also are so soothing and grandiose in their sound, it makes me feel more invested in the album. Pretty good.
I listened to Safe in the Hands of Love and Heaven to a Tortured Mind back in April, so it’s kind of ridiculous I took this long to get to this album. The first song had me thinking that the album would go in a darker direction, and while that wasn’t true, that doesn’t mean I disliked the songs. While it may not be as experimental as Yves’ earlier albums or amazing like Heaven, it surely had me pumped up and ready with its accessible dance-punk sound. Another great album ... read more
So much nostalgia from this. I’ll always remember hearing these two amazing songs while on road trips with my grandpa as a kid.
I randomly decided to listen to this after seeing a video playing one of the album’s songs, and oh my god it was an experience. So orchestral, so grand, and so amazing. I literally felt as if I had walked into a Disney movie throughout the album, and for 1967 it feels so ahead of its time. I’m actually surprised this has less than a 1,000 reviews compared to other contemporary progressive rock albums like The Court of the Crimson King. Please, if you haven’t heard this album, ... read more
I decided to treat this differently from Loveless, since it feels unfair to compare it to such a flawless album. It’s a pretty good return, and some of the songs hit hard, and the overall sound is a lot more lethargic than in Loveless. Though some songs didn’t stick with me that much, especially “nothing is”, which just repeated over and over again. Overall, I would say I wouldn’t return, but it’s a good record to listen to during the night.
My mom has been recently listening to Chappell Roan lately, so I wanted to check her most recent single considering how much praise it has been recently getting. Oh my god, this was much an amazing track, I like how vindictive Roan sounds in this and this feels so much like a track you’d hear in the 80s. Definitely going to check out her debut album soon.
I don’t think I’ve invested myself into a Tyler album this much since IGOR. This is such a good album and I like the details of Tyler’s mother speaking as a way to show her as his inspiration and drive for his music. Although it definitely has to grow on you, this continues Tyler’s now 4-album streak of banger albums.
Why did bro need to release it this Monday, It feels like an eternity just to wait for a few days.
Such an amazing song about the detrimental outcomes of being a musician with such rabid and dangerous fans.
I knew Injury Reserve sampled Black Midi, but I genuinely didn’t expect them to sample the whole starting guitar riff for this song. I immediately thought of Knees when the song started.
Anyway, the song is great. The first four minutes are ambient and unnerving, but when it fully hits at that four minute mark, it starts to ramp up until it reaches its noisy climax, then ends in such an uncomfortable sustained state that leaves you with awe.
Amazing song that definitely didn’t ... read more
I’ve heard of some of Black Midi’s music from Hellfire and Cavalcade and they were amazing tracks, and Geordie Greep is a really good vocalist, but holy shit. I never thought his solo album would be THIS good.
This is such an interesting and amazing album that deserves the praise. I love how the jazz-rock is emphasized more in here than in Black Midi, as well as the added touch of some Latin influences.

The song is fine, but I’m pretty sure people genuinely hate it because KSI keeps trying to have a fight with DanTDM over ONE SINGLE TWEET.
Though this has been inside my head for weeks now.
Help.
This album is genuinely overloading in the best way possible. It goes through so many directions in the span of less than an hour, it’s truly amazing. Better than their debut, and possibly one of the best albums I have ever heard.
