Favorite tracks: "DRIFT REGALIA", "HOODIE MUSIC", "CONSPIRACY GIRL", and "Go Oli Go". All very good vibes in a very good album. I found out about this via email on Warp's Bandcamp, so I decided, "Why not? After all, Warp has some GREAT stuff."
If I had to pick a least favorite, it would have to be NOSEBLEED MELODY. While it's not BAD, that "AH HAH! AH HAH! AH HAH!" bit doesn't ring true to me.
I really do NOT get the ignorant bashing on this album. I think it's one of the best, maybe, THE best alternative album I've heard in a while. This ain't overrated in the slightest. It's not Songs in the Key of Life (which, while I don't think it's perfect, is still a recommendation and one of my favorite soul records - I've given it a 9), it must be said. I think this just screams UNDERRATED. Man, that word "overrated" just makes my blood boil. ... read more
Life: The Album
For those who want the full experience, plus two extra great tracks, I'd go for this one!
I first listened to this album back in 2023 when I was 16 and deciding to listen to Zappa. Thought it was really good, and decided to give it a quick rating of 8 a year later. Then I decided that 2025 was the year to give it another go.
I think it's fantastic. One of the greatest debut albums of all time, and certainly like no other record in the '60s. Starting with the satirical "Hungry Freaks, Daddy" targeting such topics as the education system, which may very well still ... read more
This is the first Fall album I've listened to in its entirety. I've considered for months about listening to them, since John Peel, one of my favorite bri ish ol' men, was pretty much their number one fan during his lifetime, and I remember hearing a remix of it from Michelle Pamela Lyons called "No Christmas for Donkey" (A remix of "No Xmas for John Quays").
And, honestly, I was blown away by the very first track on this album. The chemistry of the guitars ... read more

Here's Fat of the Land, the third studio album from Prodigy, AND a 1999 Guinness World Record for the fastest-selling dance album in the UK. Not even a year after its release in the States, it had already sold over 2.6 MILLION copies over there by December of 1997.
And, 28 years on, it continues to be worth the hype. Most of this album put me in an imagination spot where I witnessed lots of Bri ish blokes sweating in a rave to this in a steamy night club.

Say Scum without the "S" and that's good...good, very nice! That's why most folks call it f- AGHHHHH~
Anyway, where the hell were we? Oh, yeah. Scum is grindcore at its best. They sound like savage dogs, and the shrieking, as one commenter on "Moral Crusade" put it, sounds like "someone having the most disturbing orgasm of their life". It's so goddamn intense yet so frickin' awesome.
The album's a wild ride from start to finish, but some ... read more
This is wonderfully made. All of the three tracks are well-made, but my absolute favorite (which I discovered on internet station Dandelion Radio - thanks Leo :-D) HAS to be the Special Request Remix of Shipwreck.
This album is the musical equivalent of a hot shower at night. It's a pleasure to experience, and you leave feeling relaxed and chilled out.
The Residents at their best! This album certainly earned its spot on 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.
Active for over 50 years, The Residents have released a TON of albums during their career. I find it quite nice that you can jump through their discography like frogs leaping from one lily to another. Some are good, some are mediocre, some stand out - and Duck Stab is one of these standouts.
Much like the great Captain Beefheart, The Residents can be an acquired taste. On first ... read more
