Titus Andronicus - A Productive Cough
Mar 4, 2018

Titus Andronicus' turn to 70's rock on this record is certainly interesting, but it unfortunately comes off as a plain, boring pastiche of that sound. On my first listen, so many songs just blew past me due to the fact that they barely changed up and repeated listens really didn't reveal much extra. Vocally, I think that this album is much more bearable than previous releases, and there are some pretty potent moments within the record that feel like they are building up some kind of emotionality. However, it's just kind of forgettable unfortunately. Not gonna be returning to this one.

BEST TRACKS: Number One (in New York), Above the Bodega (Local Business)
WORST TRACKS: Real Talk, (I'm) Like a Rolling Stone, Home Alone
