Hi! im doing my list for 1971 now and I have 2 things to ask of you.
1. You have Claude Frank's rendition of Beethovens 32 sonatas as your top rated record of the year, could you give me a brief review on why you think the record is great?
2. You have a tie for 5th place on you list between
Nice to see. I used to have a Criterion subscription for a bit, they offer quite a great collection of films there that I see you'd be interested in judging by your favourites. As for other films that are not quite as easily accessible, I'm able to find it through surfing the internet (Some you can find straight off YouTube; Discord has also been very helpful with film download links and all that), and torrenting as a very last resort. If you need help with finding some download links, I'll see if I can help.
Hey I just wanted to let you know that my list aggregating AOTY's favorite albums of the year 1970 is finally live, and that you are included in it!
This was a very big project that would not have been able to be completed without your ratings and I hope to continue this series with future installments!
If you would be so kind as to check the list out and even possibly give me any feedback at all it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!
I think theres been a slight misunderstanding in regards to the list im making that im asking for peoples favorite album of the 1970s as a whole. Im asking specifically about the year 1970 itself. Hope that makes sense, if you'd like to submit a second response, please do so by tonight. Im anticipating publishing the list in the wee hours of tomorrow morning!
What is your favorite album of the year 1970, and could I get a few words on your thoughts on that album!?
{I’m going to be doing a series of lists where I go through AOTYs favorite albums of every year since 1970 and this is the first part of that ultimate goal!!}
I'm quite confused by the rather high score for an album that has 4 variations of Jingle Bells and then some 3 minute spoken-word piece.... glad someone agrees with me.
It’s a sound collage/compilation of interviews with hundreds of victims of childhood prostitution, rape, substance abuse, incest, serial killers, molestation. It centers around innocent children being touched and even killed by older men (most of the time), one of the most painful albums I’ve ever listened to. There’s no explanation why Sotos made the album but some people speculate that it’s to bring awareness about child abuse and all of THAT stuff, which I personally hope was his intention. If not....
Have you ever listened to ‘Buyer’s Market’ by Peter Sotos? I would be interested in hearing your take. But of course the subject matter is really dark and I would obviously understand if you would rather never come close to the album. Also, thank you being such a kind person to me, it’s nice having discussions with you.
Hey man, if you are interested I would love for you to be apart of the CFCE group. If you don't that's perfectly fine.
