The more I listen to Nectar the more I feel at odds with it. Not because of what it is but what it could've been. This is by every means a quality album and these protrusive thoughts haven’t drastically changed my enjoyment of the project overall, moreso my mindset about the record and George Miller’s direction as an artistic individual. Where Ballads 1 just meagerly grasped my shoulders getting my attention towards whatever would come next it was the lead singles to Nectar: ... read more

What could possibly go wrong? Well a few things but for the most part Dominic Fike's debut LP has some quality songs to be enjoyed. I really don't get the hate on this album, I mean it's not spectacular by any means but the twenties everywhere just confuse me, are we listening to the same album? I find the young Brockhampton star is good at taking something familiar and just making something enjoyable out of it in a similar way to Wallows for example. It's not boundary pushing, it's not ... read more

Twenty Pilots have really settled into their own groove and I'm so here for it. After Trench, I think this band proved that they can be more than a Hot Topic band for twelve year old girls that everyone makes fun of and they can just roll with the big boys like everyone else. That album is very special to me and that jump in quality wasn't a flash in the pan by following it up with one and now another quality single and it's safe to say this new and improved Twenty One Pilots is here to stay. ... read more

Whole Lotta Red is now my favorite Playboi Carti album. Carti managed to double down on his experimental tendencies and remain entertaining as ever. This whole record sounds like a Blade movie, Carti vocally remains unmatched in the Trap world going absolutely unhinged and borderline psychotic on songs like Stop Breathing and New Tank which is only elevated by the 70's punk rock style mixing, obstreperous adlibs flying in every direction, Carti's chains absolutely abusing the mic, and gruff ... read more

One half of 2020's two most anticipated Hip Hop releases, I find myself feeling about Eternal Atake the way many people felt about Whole Lotta Red upon it's release: this is what we waited all that time for? While Whole Lotta Red continues to reinvent itself upon further listens as I dig up new layers and find newfound enjoyment in the project placing it just barely over Die Lit as my favorite Carti project thus far Eternal Atake has only continued to stagnate. Lil Uzi has shown no real ... read more

It finally clicked with me what bothers me so much about this kid's music. Not one song he ever recorded was a full package. There was always without exception one or many aspects holding it back. The occasional positives or good ideas are so scatterbrained across his four studio albums it really pulls down any merit he may have had to begin with. For as much shit as I've given a lot of artists in the past most of them have at least a song, as in one song that I enjoy, but no such songs exist ... read more
