Hurry Up Tomorrow is Abel Tesfaye’s final project as his “The Weeknd” persona and I would personally say that it is his best. The album went through numerous versions before being released, some even so late that the first vinyl pressing was completely different from the actual album. I personally think that he landed on the perfect version of the album even though it’s long every song feels like it deserves a spot in the runtime. This album combines everything that The ... read more
With this album Tyler really manages to tell a very personal story. Tyler is normally know for hiding behind different characters, but as he has also said he was very inspired by Kendrick Lamar’s “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” which was a very personal album for Kendrick and therefor Tyler, The Creator has tried to replicate that feeling with this album, and I personally think that he did a very good job.
Kendrick once again manages to shock the entire music industry, with this installment he manages to incorporate deep lyricism, club bangers and classic west coast rap. When you listen to this album you can’t help but feel like it’s missing something and therefore I personally think that Kendrick will drop another project before his Super Bowl performance in Now Orleans.
This album is probably one of the best late night listens. Frank Ocean has a god like voice with deep lyrics attached which is really rare. It is just a shame that we rarely get anything from him, but in the mean time we can listen to his best album "Blonde".
"The College Dropout" introduced the young Kanye West to the world who at the time was a very different rapper to the ones who were big at the time. Without this album the music industry would defenetly be very differnt today beacuse of the mark Kanye has made on it.
With Kanyes third studio album we get a record filled with hits and it is probably Kanyes most hit filled album to date. That is also why it in my opinion can feel a little superficial sometimes in comparison to the rest of Kanye West's discogrophy but we also can't forget that it is still one of Kanyes best projects ever.
"Astroworld" is truely one of the most magical projekts out there, you really feel like you are in a different univers erverytime you listen to it. This was also the album that really let Travis Scott make a massive mark on the industri and where he also introduced Don Toliver to the masses.
When you listen to "Heroes & Villains" it is crazy how big of a mark Metro has left without even saying a word. He is currently one of the most prominent people in hip-hop right now and he got there just by producing beats, that is crazy. The good thing about producer albums is that you get fire beats and you get a little bit of every artist witch is a blessing.
In my opinion is “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” one of Kendrick Lamar’s most underrated albums. The difference between this project and Kendrick’s other albums is that instead of trying to fix the world he tries to fix himself because you can not fix a broken world if you are broken yourself.
“2001” by Dr. Dre is one of the most important rap records ever made. It included every single notable rapper from this era. And if we are being honest this album is still a benchmark that modern rappers try to replicate to this day. It is one of the best hip-hop records and definitely the best gangster rap album ever made.
This album was the first time Kanye tried to resurrected his career and by now he has tried to do it again numerous times but we will never get something like this ever again from Kanye or any other artist ever. Every song on this album has its own feel to it and if you own this record on vinyl you will know that it is probably one of the best vinyl experiences available out there.
Kendrick Lamar’s breakout album “good kid, m.A.A.d city” is one of the best albums ever if not the best and Kendrick has just kept proving himself again and again throughout the years. Even though we don’t get much music from him every time we do get some we get gold.
Kendrick Lamar once again manages to tackle some of the most prominent problems in our society and he does it in a great way where it doesn’t feel forced or unnatural.
With the rerelease of this project from 10 years ago it is really as groundbreaking as when it first released. This just shows that Travis doesn’t just follow the trends of hip hop he makes them.
Travis Scott’s latest installment Utopia really underlines why he is known for his live performances where I was lucky enough to go see one of his Europe shows which really takes this album to a whole new level.
In my opinion this project is where Eminem shines the most. You can really feel how hungry he is but at the same time not caring and for me that is what Slim Shady is about.
A classic Eminem album. This is what you think of when you say Eminem. It is also one of his best projects. You just can’t get enough of the old Slim Shady.
