To me, Gore Obsessed has always just been an awfully average death metal album. It doesn't really try anything new and stays pretty consistently bland throughout; to me, this album doesn't have an interesting enough style to be able to stand alone without any other notable ideas.

My favourite album of all-time. Perfect in every sense of the word in my opinion.
This is Horror Punk done perfectly, with the fast, punky tracks like "Black Dream" and "He Who Cannot Be Named", to the slow, heavy tracks like "Macabre" and "The Shift". From the atmospheric opening of the title track, to the simple, yet chaotic ending guitar solo of "Archangel".
