A beautiful collection. Billie Holiday depicts, with fairytale whimsy, a cinematic romance. Her voice has a certain quality that simply resonates. The lyrical and thematic content is cliche, though I don't know how insightful this remark is considering this is an album from the 50s, and despite this, the compilation contains a certain emotional dynamism, the atmosphere is very comforting, but the lingering bittersweetness lends these songs a more tragic potential.
