It looks like what happened here is that Corey decided to emulate that butt rock he brought to his debut solo album a few years back into Slipknot's sound. What you get is a ton of Nickelback-esque metal, full of the most bland riffs, downright hideous songwriting, and ultimately boring listening experiences you could ever get in Slipknot's entire discography. A hard bar to surpass, I know, especially considering All Hope Is Gone and The Gray Chapter exist, but seriously, this manages to top even those as being bottom of the barrel alt metal.
The End? I damn well hope so. If they're gonna continue destroying their legacy with each new release, I'd rather they just stop it here and let Corey keep his new style with Stone Sour and his solo career.
