I was waiting so long for this album and expectation were high. Are they met? I think, with such hype I put on this release, it would have been difficult to fulfill. But it hasn't disappointed for sure. It has too standard alt r&b vibe, I was counting on more experiments, it is a bit too safe. Once you're on the second or third listen, it's clear that this body of work is masterful. The quality of sound, the energy, and the consistency from start to finish is remarkable. Just when I think I can recover from one track, either a transition happens or another interesting or complex sounds comes through and I have to continue banging my head. I am moved by all the elements of his album and when Summer Renaissance ends, all I can do is restart the whole experience again.
