Seemingly contrary to a lot of people here, I actually quite enjoyed this. It’s definitely not on the level as her recent albums but I think that was expected given her EP track record and how unbelievably high her standards are at the moment; I didn’t find this disappointing at all. The dark and heavy tone + the glitchy experimentation and the electronic groove influences are new from Simz (I think) while still sounding like her. It’s really cool and hopefully it sets the stage for what’s to come from her works in the future. I’d kill for a full concept album with this sort of production.
That being said, this EP can get a little dull at times. Many of the ideas are clearly underdeveloped and strange imo, but I still loved it nonetheless and I don’t think it needs any sort of long review or explanation for most people to enjoy. It’s dark, heavy, experimental, sometimes whacky, and a ton of fun.
