Domo Genesis & The Alchemist - No Idols
NR
Classic tape from the OF era. Really like the new cover. First thing I noticed when looking at some of the reviews here is that a lot of people didn't know about this tape before today. I get why, but don't let the disparity in popularity fool you; the artists who were in OF that aren't named Tyler, Earl or Frank have all made great shit, and some continue to do so. Syd and the other members of The Internet are the obvious example, but the others are all worth checking out

Man, what the hell is the commentary around this album? It's the ambient soundtrack to an art exhibition, recorded live with no overdubs. I guess it's Domino's fault, in a way, for promoting this as if it was AC's next big studio release, when really it's a side project the band made for friends to promote environmental awareness.

Hoping for a U.S. tour, they seem like an incredible live act. Don't take bands like this for ... read more
A$AP Rocky - TESTING

I'd recommend re-listening to this if you haven't in a minute. I'll admit that not everything here works, but there are plenty of moments where Rocky sticks the landing, and those serve as the best shit he's done up to this point. Also, something I saw people mention a lot over the course of the post-release rollout that may have been forgotten now: every video made for this era was fucking phenomenal, and Rocky deserves way more credit for that. ... read more
