This one really clicked for me today, Régine’s vocals on the end of My Heart Is An Apple are just incredibly beautiful, and I’m starting to appreciate the more stripped-back (at least production-wise) version of No Cars Go.
Favourite Track: No Cars Go
If it’s the words that a man sings, and not his looks, that turn you on, is it still gay?
Also, this is currently my favourite song of all time.
At first listen, I immediately thought that this was a major downgrade from Stomachaches, and while I do still think it’s a bit of a downgrade, it has grown on me quite a bit. I’ve got to say, that Frank’s vocals on this one is far inferior to his vocals on his last project, at some points they just seem a bit too raw. His songwriting is also not as good as on the last project, and along with the overall sound of the record, seems to not have as much thought put into it. At ... read more
Bang Bang, as suggested by its name, is a banger, and you can’t tell me any different.
Favourite Tracks: Bang Bang, Revolution Radio, Troubled Times
Least Favourite Track: Bouncing Off The Wall
Fall Out Boy takes the pop out of their usual pop punk.
The shit that Patrick Stump does with his voice on this is genuinely incredible, and like nothing he’s ever done before, I need more of this.
Favourite Track: Eternal Summer
Fall Out Boy takes the punk out of their usual pop punk.
There are four reasons I’m rating this as high as I am:
1. Nostalgia.
2. I get to hear Big Sean, in a Fall Out Boy song, saying “Hell yeah I’m a dick, girl, addicted to you”.
3. Some of these lyrics are so cringe that they make me laugh and that makes me enjoy it.
4. The title track is genuinely a great song.

This is a really fun record. I genuinely don’t see how people hate this. There’s amazing songs on it like the title track, Horseshoes And Handgrenades. Green Day ventures outside of their own style on tracks like Peacemaker. It is an obvious cash grab following the success of American Idiot, but at least they made it a decent album, at least in my opinion. The band has some of their more pop-orientated songs on here like 21 Guns and Last Of The American Girls. I was blown away by ... read more
This album just proves that Brendon Urie isn’t great at making entire albums, more a bunch of brilliant songs, and then some incredibly mediocre filler with bad autotune. There are some tracks on here where the autotune works quite well, like This Is Gospel, but I just don’t see the reason that they used autotune, because Brendon Urie’s singing is amazing on its own. A lot of the songs are amazing, Vegas Lights has always been a favourite of mine, and Far Too Young To Die ... read more
This album’s really important to me, and while some of the songs have shrunk on me over time, I still love the album. It has so many amazing songs, and only a few that have lost their impact on me over time. Almost every song is a blast to listen to, and the lyrics are really good and witty, though not to the same level as their previous album. A real stand-our lyric for me would be the line “tongues on the sockets of electric dreams” from Golden, but that’s mainly ... read more
This one was really tough for me. First off, I want to say, I don’t really like the vibe of most of the songs, and the album as a whole, but I can commend it for being extremely unique. I haven’t ever heard anything like this, which seems to fuse quite a lot, but that may just be because I haven’t listened to enough yet. A definite downfall of this album is its length. I’m not saying that it’s so long that it gets boring or anything like that, because this record ... read more
It seems that either people think this is one of the best albums of all time, or a complete shit show. Despite what my score may suggest, and my ranking on my favourite albums list, I wouldn’t say it’s one of the best albums of all time, but it deserves no less than a 90 for me. I love most of the tracks on here, with the iconic and powerful guitar riffs on songs like the title track and Holiday. Jesus Of Suburbia is a nine-minute long epic, that manages to stay consistently great ... read more
This one’s pretty damn mediocre. The song that seems to be everybody’s favourite, Island In The Sun, is my least favourite song on the whole record. I really hate that song, it just gets on my nerves because of how safe it is. Also, Rivers shows off his time-travelling abilities on Glorious Day, singing about flexing clout years before it was relevant.
Favourite Tracks: Hash Pipe, Photograph, Don’t Let Go
Least Favourite Track: Island In The Sun
I can see why people would think differently, but I think this is definitely better then You Won’t Get What You Want. It may not be as good lyrically or conceptually, but the sound of this is way better in my opinion. It’s consistently energetic on every track, and sometimes surprises you with how quickly things change up. This album’s a bit heavier than YWGWYW, and the booming bass throughout the album highlights this in the best way possible, and every track will have you ... read more
Damn, I can’t decide if I prefer this or their self-titled, because their self-titled is a more mature effort, and they experiment with their sound, but this... this is just a plain brilliant pop punk album. Travis Barker’s drumming is probably at its peak here. I mean, he’s always amazing at drumming, but this album shows it off more than any other Blink album, with tracks like Aliens Exist, my favourite track on the album. There’s the obvious classics like What’s ... read more
Way underrated record. While not being one of my favourites from Green Day, it’s such a fun album, and then swaying a bit from their punk roots works really well here. There’s a few tracks on here that can be a bit of a drag, but apart from that it’s a fast-paced album full of odd bangers. Minority has been a track that’s always stood out to me, along with the other singles like the title track, as well as amazingly underrated deep cuts like Castaway, certainly one of ... read more
While it has shrunk on me over time, becoming my least favourite Vampire Weekend album when it used to be my favourite, I still love this album. There’s a few aspects of it on some songs that I’m not so keen on, but for the most part it’s great. Not much I can really say about this record, not like the two other VW releases, but if you’re a fan of indie pop, you’d probably love this, even though it’s not for everyone.

Most people grew up with Supermassive Black Hole, I grew up with Starlight, and I’m quite glad of that, because to this day, I prefer Starlight by far. Supermassive Black Hole isn’t even near being one of my favourites on this record, even though it’s still an amazing song. Similar to Paramore’s self-titled, it took me a while to get into this one, because of the surface level I was listening to it at the time. But once I chose to concentrate on it a bit, it became one ... read more
Within two days of listening to this, it has become one of my five favourite albums of all time. What the fuck. This is the kinda album that you can just sit back and let envelop you, probably more than any others I have ever listened to. The noise consumes you, and you don’t really want it to end. Who cares if you can barely hear the lyrics? You don’t need them. All you need is the brilliant shoegaze sounds, the looped drums, the brilliant guitar riffs, and the soft vocal melodies ... read more
Certainly Green Day’s most varied album to this day, experimenting with a lot of different styles that they hadn’t touched on before, from ska on King For A Day, to screaming on Take Back. Nice Guys Finish Last, the album opener sounds really good, but the lyrics... I mean, they’re exactly what the title suggests, they belong in an r/niceguys post. Hitchin’ A Ride has got to be one of the best Green Day songs, with them incorporating a violin into the track, and the ... read more
This album took me a while to get into, because at the time I was listening to it at a very surface level. But one day Fast In My Car and Now clicked for me, and to this day they are two of my favourite Paramore songs. There’s certainly a reason that Still Into You and Ain’t It Fun blew up, because even though they were some of Paramore’s poppiest songs to this point, they sound amazing, with the catchiness of Still Into You striking anyone who listens to it, and the intricacy ... read more
