"@oskar4 its important to remember that i wrote this (and most of my reviews) in 2019, now four years ago, and my taste, opinions, and ratings have changed drastically since. i don't really care about the user rating either! it's a reflection of how the website's population feels about the music.. and thats what my rating is. if i were to take into account the effect my rating would have on the number that "represents" the album, and alter my rating accordingly so as not to disrupt that, it would devalue my rating as an immutable representation of my feelings toward the album, kinda de-validating the whole point of the website .... its about the music , not the numbers. so if an album is good,, and it feels like a 55 to me,,,, then its a 55.
also a little context might help .. my rating scale is shifted and weighted a bit differently than others. bc i listen to more good music than bad, i shifted my "completely neutral" rating down to 40... rather than the 50 most people use"
