I'd be lying if I said I didn't look at the minutes per track on "Vocalcity" before listening (12, 12, 14, 16, 12, 10) and guess that each of them should have been shortened by at least 5 minutes. Now that I've come out on the other side of this hour and a quarter long Microhouse affair, I can verify that my prediction was correct. I'm not knocking the album at all, each song has something to offer but it's just too longwinded. There's not much in terms of progression in these songs, ... read more

35 years isn't a milestone that seems to draw a lot attention, but "Hounds of Love" deserve to be recognized upon every single anniversary of its release. Now admittedly my exposure to Kate Bush, at least at this point and time, starts and ends here with this album. One of the album's biggest strengths is that it has something for all pop fans. Whether it be the straightforward pop structures of the LP's first side or the experimental twists and turns of its second half, you're bound ... read more

“Ambient bliss for sailors. Or for the sailor in all of us.”

I just got back from a weekend away down at Cape Cod and let me tell you how nice it was to escape from things just for a little bit. My golf form is pretty ace too after some practice down at the range. I ... read more

I’m not participating in this AOTD challenge but I figured I might as well write a quick piece on Everyday Robots since it’s an album I’ve been listening to sporadically since it came out.

I love every single project Damon Albarn has ever been involved in. Gorillaz opened my eyes to the concept that musical styles could be intertwined with each other to create something unique. Who else could score De La Soul, the trio that pushed the boundaries of hip hop lyricism in the ... read more

I think it would be important to highlight albums from the past 5-10 years you feel have been truly innovative, either in their general construction (production, instruments usage), vocals, sociopolitical discussion or anything else you can think of.
Would you be kindly be able to reply with 1-3 albums that you think have been truly innovative in particularly recent times?

Hi there! I accidentally deleted by Fetch the Bolt Cutters review (instead of 'editing' it) and I'm quite pleased with it, would you mind giving it another look? I don't expect a like, just a read my friend!
